The first line of these men with shields unites even more - the unconscious habit gained during demanding hours of training. Tens of attackers’ fists move up and the sky is full of small dark dots. “Beware!” The shields go up as fast and the lots of in the air flying objects violently beat on them. At the same moment, the first warriors come and you can hear the sound of powerful blows. The salient made of tens of bodies strikes the shields and the first line of defenders staggers. “It stands!!!” The front line got dangerously shaken under the first attack and moved a bit back, but it survived. A merciless scuffle with the superiority starts. However, the fight with the coordinated defence, changing in some places into individual scuffles of one man against the other, gets progressively weaker. The attack slowly disintegrates and changes into a chaotic aggressors’ retreat. There is suddenly strange calm. The sweaty defenders recover from the heavy fighting and move away their injured colleagues. They must regroup now and get ready soon again. They all know it was not the last attack today. depending on the length, it can be calculated when the axe/sword will be correctly tilted to hit the object. once you get a good hit at a certain distance that distance is recommended, like 3 steps back and youll end up hitting the opposite ends. as for spears its just practice and accuracy

If it was a medieval warzone the shield shouldn't have stood a chance. Medieval warfare was advanced stuff, armor from that time are completely immune to sword swings. There really isn't a surprise that hammer did the best job, it was made to be able to fight armor which is almost impossible to fight otherwise. If a Riot have medieval weapons then the police are in trouble.

If science doesn't fail me, the only reason that the shield survived those trucks is because the wheels have high surface area, meaning the weight of it is spread out and does less damage. If you put spikes or something sharp on the wheels it would for sure crack the shield because of the low surface area and the high pressure on the shield.

Man, some wicked implements there. Yeah that heavy spike war hammer was baddass AF! I don't have any practical tool use for one though, so I'll stick to my tomahawk's with hammer poll. I do own a spike poll tomahawk also, but spikes perpendicular to handles get stuck in shield's or enemy's and may have to be abandoned as such in an ongoing fight. Hammer just hits hard and bounces back for another swing. Hammer is good for wedges. Rounded edge hammer for skinning. I dig tomahawks and knife's though I never been really great throwing a knife, they've been my most carried and used tool. I got decent knife collection started. I through at least one of my tomahawk's every other day. I didn't make it up the hill before dark tonight, though I was carrying my spike poll tomahawk. I was kept busy with my new French Opinel No08 Champignons Knife foraging Morel Mushrooms. I should've waited a few minutes for the Full moon to rise. I threw in the Moonlight last night. It rose high and super bright over my shoulders before the forest was completely dark.
