@ I’d personally get the 4K version. I’ve played around with my brothers artist pro 19 gen 2 and noticed zero lag with lower refresh rate.

For those confused as to why Adam is calling a $1k+ tablet 'budget friendly', it's good to remember that this is an incredibly high end, massive, calibrated, colour accurate tablet for creative professionals. Not people taking the odd commission, (full respect to those people) but those working full time at animation and game studios, working on projects that require insanely accurate colour reproduction. Displays this colour accurate cost like $30k not so long ago. The equivalent Wacom tablets are like triple the price. For a creative industry professional, rather than a beginner, hobbyist artist, and even most illustrators, this is extremely budget friendly. For everyone else, you don't really need a tablet this big, and it will probably go down in price in a couple years.

Spot on Hannah - many people don’t realize that the next most expensive 24” 4K factory calibrated pen display that performs well is the Xencelabs pen display 24 - which is $2900 CAD

I graduated up from a Samsung Tab S8 Ultra to the 1440p 165hz version of the Artist Pro 24 Gen 2, and I absolutely love it. _Drawing_ from my experience in computer games, I value the ability to use my whole arm rather than mostly relying on my wrist with a (comparatively) smaller display. 24" of screen space with large bezels means you get *so* much room to work with (big bezels = comfortably going all the way up to the edge of the screen), and since I still have my S8 Ultra, that means portability is zero concern for me. This device is well-worth the money and I'm glad I got one. Solid review, too!

I ended up getting a Kamvas 27 Pro around July since I didn't want to wait for this release. The Pro 16 Gen 2 was getting too small and I didn't want to downgrade to a previous gen pen. I did have to rma the Kamvas twice due to dead pixels and the pen not being tracked in parts of the display. Overall frustrating experience. But the third unit was devoid of issues. I also had to rma the PW600 pen in November. It would register pressure even when not pressed. QC still needs some work. I'd pick this one if I were to make a decision today. Solid release from xp pen. As you mention in the video though Adam, the PW600 pen is a marked difference from the X3 Pro pen.

Yeah. I chat with someone who own a Kamvas 24 4k few weeks back. He said he have to rma that unit 4 times, everytime he got the new unit which not quite right. He said the sharpness from one unit to another (the same 4k kamvas) is different and shows how bad the quality contol of Huion. The last time he got is the better one but still have minor hiccups.

Only problem I've had with XP-Pen stuff is that occasionally, the actual drivers will cause a phantom input, causing you to be unable to restart your system because it keeps force closing the drop tab. Let alone, any sort of task management is forced closed as well; I have ONLY had this problem with XP-Pen and my last tablet from them was the Artist 22 Pro.

Your system might be the culprit. I own a 15 inch xppen display from 2021, never had to restarting because of some issues whatsoever. I still using the old xppen driver since 2021 btw.

Hmm yeah - it’s important to keep those opinions public. I personally haven’t encountered any issues like the ones you’re describing, maybe because I’m on a Mac - PC windows ink is infamous for tablet bugs

Great review. I myself have a Xencelabs 24 and it looks identical to this, they're owned by the same company right? I would love to see someone do a comparison between the two as the Xencelabs is more expensive.

I think from an image quality/pen performance perspective, I’d recommend the XPPen - the accessories and design is nice on the Xencelabs but I don’t feel it offers a better drawing experience

Wise question… He said, he appreciates the lack of fan noise and the bezel isn’t overly edgy, which is more comfortable for his cheek when he leans on it. He would like to see one size made or burlap in future iterations so he has something to sharpen his claws on - maybe a water dish as well

That part you mentioned about soft lettering. Does this also mean when you are trying to make something of a sharp design, that too will keep looking soft??? I tried out the Xencelabs 24 a year ago and had to return it because no matter what the screen just kept looking like I had a 20% blur over my artwork and it was a deal breaker. Mine is the 4K version - it’s very possible the 165hz version would be the more enjoyable one - I rarely set my displays to 4K for interface sizing reasons - 1440p is often the sweet spot, all the way up to 27”

People "budget friendly" relates to the budget of the targeted audience for a product. An "Artist Pro Drawing Display" is made for professional artists, working in their fields. I that case, in relation to other products for that audience, its cheap. Ofc its hella expensive for a teenager who likes to draw and practices their craft, but no one needs a tablet this big at that stage without their own income, or when starting. Im still sitting in front of my first XP pen from 5years ago and i could afford this thing if i wanted to, but what for, I'm no professional.

Well between the XPPen 24 gen 2 and the Xencelabs Pen Display 24 (that I just reviewed), if you take accessories out of the equation (which I generally do), then I’d lean folks more towards the XPPen. That said, I’m reviewing the slightly older Huion Kamvas Pro 24 early January and I’m very curious what my verdict will be - the Huion Kamvas Pro 19 is now my daily driver - awesome pen responsiveness (which is ultimately my highest priority feature)

Compare to the Wacom equivalents and it is budget friendly comparatively. I have a Cintiq Pro 27 and it was 3500 USD, and a QHD 27 before that.

Do you make any money? I'm serious. I remember being a kid with no money hearing of artists having an Nvidia 780 Ti and thinking "WOW THAT'S SO CRAZY", but now that I'm no longer a kid, it's obvious that this sort of thing is extremely budget friendly. A grand for a product of this quality is miraculously cheap.
