The video footage in these vlogs is fairly accomplished - very good music and drone footage as well. The photos need no further comment... they are earthy amazing. What I like most about your videos, Adam, is that you are capable of just talking. Not yelling. Not acting. Not trying to sell us on something. Just talking. Thank you. It speaks volumes as to your character. I am certain that I speak not just for myself... WE. APPRECIATE. IT. Take care, brother.

This is the reason I started following , vlogs like this , Adam Gibbs signature . The scenery , high quality production , explanation of composition , exposure settings . The "Uncle Grumpy" comedy is fun on occasion but this is where I learn and could watch for hours ... so nice .

Adam, I have just watched a couple of interviews you did with Gary Gough, and I really enjoyed it. One thing I will say, is that you may not have 7 million subscribers, but the people that subscribe to your channel are quality subscribers who truly enjoy your content. I watch your channel on a daily basis, and I truly appreciate you as an artist; both in your images, and your youtube content. Cheers Adam, and thank you 👍

Great video Adam! I think I enjoyed the last image the most. It was refreshing to see something at the top of the frame used to pulled the eye into the center, especially with waterfalls. Most of the time I feel like lines from water, rocks or roots are used at the bottom of the frame to draw the viewers eye into the frame, but this was a great use of a compositional element at the top of the frame!

I love how you walk us through from beginning to end and especially the description of the area and why you chose this particular location. For me personally the biggest challenge is scouting out new areas to photograph and videos like these give me an excellent idea as to what to expect in terms of some of the challenges the scene can pose from a photographer's perspective. You go into great detail and hit all the points I am interested in. Thanks again Adam.

Great video again. The b roll at the start always makes me smile, you hike through some amazing forest on your way to location, those of us not fortunate enough to live in such an amazing place would probably spend hours photographing parts of the forest you pass and barely pay any attention to.

Thanks Adam, I always learn something new when I watch your videos. I like to go to Nile Creek in the rain also. Not only because you can get great shots, but there are less people then! By the way I think the bush with the red berries is a Huckleberry bush, the berries are edible when they are ripe. Thanks again and hope to see you on the trail someday.

Love these videos.They should be the "core" material for this channel in my opinion. So good, instructive and relaxing. Just you going out showing us the viewer the surroundings commentating over it, and just showing your thought process behind a couple comps. Nothing else is needed really! Didnt Gavin have video from this area aswell? Greetings from Sweden.

Good point about looking for the maple trees, as a reminder to revisit the location in the Autumn season for the colour. When I'm out doing my thing (railway trestle photography), I try to use the abundance of maple trees as my same cue. ...but then the timing of things in October gets tricky with deciding which places to revisit during the fleeting time of fall colour.

Nice! It has always been since I began watching photographers online that their vlog camera comp is often better (imo) than the photo comp they are working at. Sometimes on trails what may have been a hasty placement makes me yell out to the screen to take that shot. I think it was Thomas Heaton who years ago did a coast vlog where the entire vlog was from a much more appealing composition than the one he was photographing from.

I have to say that I love all of the greenery surrounding that little waterfall. Very lush! I think my favorite of the shots was the last one with the little bush with the red berries. I just like how all of the foliage is framing the waterfall (especially the maple leaves at the top). As a bit of an aside, I really liked the fallen trees your are standing in front of at about 14:25. I was actually a bit distracted from what you were saying because I kept staring at them. :)

Great video, I enjoy you walking through compositions. A little GFX50R tip for you which you may already know- if you push and hold the focus assist zoom button, it will toggle on/off your focus assist mode you selected in the menu (I use focus peaking red low). I find this very helpful when nailing the focus is critical.

Hi do you know the conversion factor to full frame for this Fuji MF lens ?
@sloemo4024
@sloemo4024 4 жыл бұрын
redauwg911 note that FF sensors are 3x2 ratio, and the GFX sensor is a 4x3 ratio so the conversion is different for horizontal and vertical. For the equivalent horizontal field of view, it’s focal length x0.82. For vertical it’s x0.73. So the equivalent FF horizontal field of view for the GF32-64mm is about 26-53mm

Hi Adam, Appreciate this so much as we just visited the Upper Peninsula of Michigan where there are an abundance of waterfalls. My husband was with me and I felt hurried and rushed so my photos are not what I would have liked them to be so I totally understand about going with a non-photographer partner. I wish I had the opportunity to go back but not happening anytime soon. Anyway, I appreciate your insight and will hopefully be able to have the opportunity in the future to just be able to take the time to pan or take images to stack without feeling rushed. Your images are beautiful btw. Thank you!

Must be great to have so many waterfalls on your doorstep. I must admit I found the foliage a tad messy and distracting from the waterfall. What did spark my interest was the coloured boulders in the rock pool and I'd be tempted to go a little lower and try and add them in a shot. But then I am a geologist!

Hi Adam, what I notice about your vlogs is the great sound control you have. I'm just trying to create my own, and have found a lav mic on a long cable is a bit difficult to play with! You are able to connect well with your viewers due in part to you being unencumbered, something I learned when taking a teaching adults City & Guilds course years back when I did night classes. I must try harder! Think I can manage with a recorder and shorter cable for now.....maybe move to wireless if I get some interest after posting a number of vlogs first. Cheers, Marshall Black
