Great video … at the 1.08 minute point the group you went by was the DART training group practicing “hill fails” and how to get out of that situation safely. I was on the Orange KLR650 as you went by … loved the MMM event, my second year and will be one not to miss from now on. DART trading was epic and much needed for myself. Hope you are well.

It'd be a lot of fun to ride with you. Yeah, I hit 70 at one point and I did the 6.6 hour Cherokee challenge in 5.5 hours but those efficiencies were because I didn't stop once for water, bathroom or food or gas. I didn't leave the seat (unless standing). As for 'pace' I was bottom of the pack. I'm a slow rider and like to enjoy the sights and sounds.

Long drive but there were 2 of us and we put 2 bikes in the back of the truck and just drove straight down. Yep two 2-man tents and we camped on-site. There’s a lot of social elements to being there late, standing by the fire and having a few glasses of beer with new friends. It wouldn’t be the same experience to be in a comfy bed even though some people do that and probably sleep better because it can get quite cold. 3-season tent and 0 degree sleeping bag are essential.

That 701 looks killer! What editing software you using? I’ve been using iMovie on my phone and it’s very limited. I’d like to be able to speed up sections like you’ve done here

Final Cut Pro on a Mac but iMovie is more than fine on the Mac. I appreciate the compliment. My editing is very minimal. I just cut out the boring parts. It’s about 90 minutes of video for 15 minutes of final product. Only thing that would help is if I had a second person filming.

An Apple M1 MacBook Air that’s 3 years old should be around $600-$700 on eBay and can handle GoPro / iPhone videos. That’s my recommendation.

Oh yeah! yep, my friend who did the TAT in 2019 said that Is the most slippery road on the TAT so I think. you're right. I think 4 of the 10 bikes got laid over when we were standing there. It was good fun though.

What was the gps your friend was using at the beginning of the video?

It's a Garmin Montana of some sort. I think it's around $800+ and has InReach built in.
