Oakey Mountain OHV vs. KLR650

The Oakey Mountain OHV trail is located in Batesville Georgia, right beside lake Burton.
This is a challenging trail with steep hills, rocks, and jumps. 80% relatively smooth, 20% hard rocky climb/descent.
This is not a place id recommend to take the family. This is a place for experienced riders on trail/mx motorcycles, not heavy dual sport or adventure bikes.
Ride along with me and my buddy as we conquer this trail, putting my 3rd gen KLR650 and myself to the test.

Agree on your assessment. Went up there on a DRZ 400 with shitty stock Bridgestone "Death WIngs" tires when it was wet/muddy and almost couldn't get out! A couple of those steep, canyon sections were pretty tricky. Serious tires a MUST!

I suggest you go to Wayenhutta over in Cullowhee, NC. Very similar and REALLY fun. It is a BIG challenge on an KITM 890 for sure. Yep I have great tires on mine so... Biggest problem I had were a couple of rock ledges with flat faces.

But I learned it's better to get a better bike for that situation because I don't want to tear my hips out

I have a 22 klr I wouldn't try that on mine you can do it better so I'll watch you. Keep up the careful riding
