Great video and shows why koi keepers have such green and colourful gardens 😀

Yeah it's unbelievable how much things grow with fish waste although It means ive got to cut the grass every 3 days in summer. 🙂
@Ayane13b3 жыл бұрын
Every 3 days?! Oh my god. I've never seen one of these filters before, but it's really quite cool how it works, and how you clean it. Really quite satisfying.

First time I have ever seen a Nexus cleaned in that manner. Amazing how much muck came out of that filter. Cheers.

For an electrical solution use a toilet macerator in place of the petrol pump. Not as powerful but does the job and auto starts and stops.

That grass will be 10 ft tall 😂 Awesome videos Adam, I watched so so so many of your last year that helped me with my pond build 😁

Some of those would look good in our pond, if we ever get round to throwing a new liner in to it, it's lasted 28 years so can't really complain that it's started leaking a little.

It would be really interesting to see the setup and how it works please with the various filters and media. I'm not a fish fanatic (I like catching them) but don't have a pond yet find these videos really interesting - I just wish I understood each part a bit better. Thanks.

My nexus doesn't need any help for cleaning as you do. Clean my filter every day, takes less than 5 min. Put a timer on your hose when you're refilling the water, you can never forget to turn it off in time. Only 5 quid at the pound shop, great investment, never an overflowing pond anymore.

Adam Julyan , you once had a oase screenmatic filter , would you recommend these , are they any good at keeping pond clear , problem i have is brown water , i have a oase bio filter 18000 , a small oase screenmatic [ needs new filter sponges ] both oase filters run from a 12000 ltr pump , all ponds solutions 75000 ltr pressure filter run from a 20000 ltr vari pump connected to a retro fit bottom drain, my pond is around 1000 gal , but just can't stop water from going brown , i do have a water iris plant in pond , any advice would be appreciated ,
@AdamJulyan3 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't really recommend it no. It would work and it would probably clear your water but any filter that has sponges like that and pressure filters need cleaning every day and it becomes a massive task. If you don't clean a pressure filter every day the sponges stop working properly and you need to take it apart and manually clean it, it's just the same for the screenmatic. have a look at a filter like this a nexus 320 would be just the trick they are a big lump but not as much of a pain as those oase filters.

My pond runs absolutely fine with a oase pressure fillter 30000 with a oase 17500lph pump and the oase bio smart 36000 with a oase 11500lph pump with the oase swimskim 25 under the bridge 😁👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Been years since I seen your tank. You've still got some really pretty large koi. Ever going to hand breed them for specific colors to sale?
@Happy_Buddah_Bonsai_UK2 күн бұрын
You should sell the waist water in 5 liter containers for £25 as Expert fertiliser to these cannabis grow shops around the country 😀 and for Bonsai people like myself but got a family koi pond too

Hi Adam great vid im getting a nexus 320 next year so some good tips on how to clean it thanks mate
@AdamJulyan3 жыл бұрын
Yeah they are a good filter this tank is a bit small but still has a lot of fish and the filter doesn't have any issues as long as I can keep it cleaned regularly.
@wills12063 жыл бұрын
Are you more likely to get bacterial issues with a nexus and k1 bead over a drum? Thinking of upgrading to a drum but worried about things going wrong with it. Which is why I got a nexus in the first place!

Have you applied for a water rates reduction, as your waste is going on your garden instead of water treatment place
@AdamJulyan3 жыл бұрын
Yeah I don't pay drainage for water used in my ponds It saves me a fortune 🙂
@jamessutton34523 жыл бұрын
I bet it does, do you find you benefit much from the solar panels,
@smokeandkippers3 жыл бұрын
Blimey that filter is huge compared to the tank. Is that meant for a larger tank or you just prefer a lot of filtration?
@josh.kaptur3 жыл бұрын
You keep that many koi in that sized tank you’re going to need mega filtration and water changes.
@AdamJulyan3 жыл бұрын
Like Josh said it don't hurt to have a way to big filter on a Quarantine tank with a lot fish. The filter would do a 18,000 Litre pond.
@golffish75993 жыл бұрын
Do you run trickle in,trickle out on that tank? Only got 6 Koi in 500 gall in my grow on,running on sieve,cyclone and 10k pump over a shower 😁Think I'm too cautious.
@AdamJulyan3 жыл бұрын
No I don't but i would if I could fortunately the regular and quite large filter cleans keep on top of water changes with this tank. It depends how fast you trickle is you wont need it rushing in just a slight trickle will do nice 🙂
@ZaneofAustin Жыл бұрын
you don't have a mineralization tank? you could probably open a side business selling fertilizer if you did :) all you would have to do is let the solids settle out then chuck that brown/gold water into a bucket with an airstone. i love watching you doing pond maintenance, found you when you saved those Koi from your neighbors pond. stayed for the education on systems :)
