Another tip to be the coolest bmx'er at the park is make sure to snake everyone and ride sporadically so no one knows where you're going. Oh, and make sure to use a freecoaster for maximum stealth and efficiency.

FYI the real life hack for throttle grip - Get a gap between the grip and bar and Spray wd40 or something similar in to them and spin them to get them off easy. Clean the bar and inside of grip with soapy water and let it dry. Spray some hairspray on the inside of the grip, then slide it over the bars to its normal position. Leave overnight and the hairspray will dry and secure the grip in place.

dont use wd40. use rubbing alcohol. once you clean the bar with the rubbing alcohol slide the grip back on .. no glue !

Just another small tip that might work against moving grip: before putting them on your bike, spray the inside of them with hairspray. Makes them slide easily on, but after the haispray is dry the grips are (as good as) glued stuck. Hope you guys can use this. :)

best way to remove throttle grip issue is spray some WD-40 between handle and grip and let it dry pls like so more people can see it

I have never tried it but it sounds like it wont work. My local bike shop said to spray hairspray in it to flush everything out and then the fast drying solvent should evaporate soon to leave it dry. Well the rubber pressed against the bars and trapped the liquid and caused the grip to throttle like iv never seen b4.

Noticed nobody responded, what you want to do is get a cheap BMX off of eBay or FB marketplace and just ride it as much as possible, you'll eventually get used to a bike style, when your comfortable riding just try bunny hops as that is the key to all tricks 👍

How long a video do you want? Those are 3 very different topics that cannot be simply glanced over with any expectation of gaining any real knowledge... As for buying cars, rule no 1, never stop looking, if you've ever got a free moment, use that time to search a new forum, newspaper, classifieds etc... Getting a car like nicole's new 240 in that condition, with those parts, for that price is simply being in the right place at the right time... We always used hairspray for the grips. They slide on easy and are “glued” on when the hairspray dries. Put a nickel in each grip before you slide them on to prevent the bars from poking through the grips when you lay the bike down.

I was taught by a guy in a bike shop, when applying new grips to dip them in VERY sugary tea, then put them on. When dry, there's no movement. Always worked for me. Nice video.

The tightening the chain, I find it easiest to wedge something between the tire and frame. I used a flash light to wedge in between while I tightened. Then you just remove the wedge and you're good!

Scott Polston another cool "coin mod" is to put nickels under the ends of your grips before sliding them on. This prevents the bars from poking through like a cookie cutter, and eliminates the need for bar end plugs.

Another trick for the throttlegrip: spray a bit of hairspray inside the grip before installing. Easy slip on, and after it sets, good luck to take it off with bare hands :D

Yo, there's easier ways to fix some of these issues. If you don't want your bars to move, do what you did and clean the surface(sanding optional), hit up your local mtb bike shop and buy some carbon paste. Put it on clamping areas, and you'll never have an issue again. To keep the grips from moving or "throttle grip" again, clean surface, and apply a thin layer of carbon paste underneath. If you want to go all out, buy some MTB lock on grips, there are PLENTY of options that are great for bmx you can lock them on via a bolt/clamp on one or both ends, and if you go this route most definitely apply carbon paste. You can get a lifetime supply tube of it from Park tool or Muc off for like $18.

Go to your bike shop and get some cheap little $2-300 complete. It really doesn't matter what you get as long as the size is right. As you get better with riding you'll develop personal tastes for parts and replace parts as they break.

5:04 in my opinion it's a good idea, but my advice for if you don't have pegs is get a wrench, loosen the bolts on the rear tire, slide it back, and re-tighten the bolts. I do it usually when my chain pops off the gear, and it works pretty well.

If your handlebars move a quick fix is put your foot on the gooseneck & pull as hard as you can on the handlebars also throttle grip if its bad roll it back use hairspary loose chain use the rubber handle of a hammer between the middle of the tyre & the frame a little bit of pressure tight chain wat this lad said is a good one to use too

Can I add to your slippery-grip solution??? Here: Before installing your new grips, clean-off your bars and inside of grips with rubbing alcohol, next??-let them dry completely before borrowing your wife’s or sisters can of Aqua-net hair-spray. Next, apply a nice amount of hair-spray to the inside of the grips before You slide them back on and let them dry again. This is my secret to getting my grips to stick, but to get an old pair off, simply spray some WD-40 inside, then slide them off. WD-40 also works to put those grips back on, but may take a lil’while longer to dry before You can ride again. Bmx 4-life.

An old-school method of putting new grips on is to spray a bit of hairspray on your bars, then slide the grips on. When wet, it lubricates. When dry, it's like glue.
