Rosanna had to deal with her whole character being attacked when she tried to speak up about misogyny and fixed competition in previous Beast Games, people tried to tear her down so bad! Obviously i dont know her beyond being a viewer but I'm so proud of her for continuing to live by her values and speak out where she sees unfairness and injustice

One thing I have always loved about Ro is that her videos are family friendly, easy to follow, and she seemly rotates cheaper to make recipes that use minimal tools, to larger scale projects. Her pizza recipe is a staple in our house along with the day of the dead bread she made for coco. Even as a child with nothing more than a wooden spoon and an oven I could follow her recipes easily.

Something that also needs to be mentioned is that Mr. Beast’s audience is primarily children. Jimmy knows that the people criticizing him aren’t subscribers. He doesn’t feel he has to offer a genuine apology bc he isn’t afraid of his child audience leaving. What would actually scare him is risk that companies working with him will see this and care about their name being damaged by associating with him. Ro’s strategy is perfect at hitting him in his pockets. The more media attention this gets, the less “family friendly” and marketable he and his content appear.

She's having her Erin Brockovich moment, let me explain: In the movie where Julia is told she's not qualified enough or smart enough to help the plaintiffs, and she completely proves the other lawyers wrong by naming them and their stories, eventho she has no background in law. Rosanna is taking time out of her day, with no law background, to piece together what all has happened to them and what Mr. Beast is actually like, way before it was 'cool' to do so. Shoutout to you, Rosanna❤

unrelated but right audience for the discussion and a hot take - Horrid Henry (British books/show) wasn't actually that horrid but more a put down misunderstood child who developed behavioural issues or they worsened as a result ... when I was little I thought henry was just awful for no reason other than to be mean and have fun doing so. but just for fun I was rewatching some of the episodes (many are on youtube in full if interested) and since growing up in a dysfunctional family I'm seeing it from a deeper level - perhaps one the writer/producer didn't intend for but I have also since looked into it and have read people on reddit some have picked up on a similar theme. for example in one episode his brother nicknamed "perfect peter" has a music recietal and all the family are round speaking so highly of him and henry is calling peter names under his breath because no one is noticing him, the recietal goes well and everyone is paying peter even more attention and telling henry he should do something good like that or get a talent , then someone calls the house phone and wants to offer peter a place at their music institute and henry picks up and pretends peter cant, his parents find out and call him horrid, punish him and take away his stuff. At surface level this is a jealous brother and parents fed up with his actions but on a deeper level after watching a few episodes it comes across more as a child acting out for attention feeling neglected and not valued and is hurt seeing his brother treated so kindly,, no one interested in Henry's talents and is told his taste in music is awful etc, no one has anything nice to say other than to be nicer to peter and call him horrid all the time so he acts out of anger and that finally gets the attention back on him and his parents notice him so he learns to stop being ignored he has to be "horrid" and especially to his brother. Another example would be on a day where peter and henry are rivals for tickets to a concert by goodness points system. everything peter does gets him points instantly but when Henry tries peter either sets him up , snitches if he makes an actual mistake or his mum assumes the good act must have been peter or that henry did it wrong so he doesn't get many points or the ones he gets are later removed when his mum believes they weren't real good acts. He works harder to catch up and he believes he has finally won, but when his mum goes to decide who won peter points out a few things which means peter still has more despite henry doing so much to get any. In the end Henrys dad chooses to take Henry but his mum quickly says it would be better to give the tickets away as her good deed ... so henry never got recognition, he screams and is told not to be so horrid and sent to his room. all his behaviours good or bad end up with him being called Horrid all the time, things are always assumed to be his fault and he never gets his action explained when he genuinely does something more mean just again told how horrid he is rather than what he should have done. Sometimes when he asks a genuine question or does something more normal than "horrid" like eating a lot of sweets he still gets called horrid rather than spoken to. On a day he doesn't want to go to school for injections because he's scared of needles no one sits down to talk to him so he imagines all these scenarios and is called horrid again by his mum who then comforts peter instead for getting a good boy sticker for not being scared. There are quite a lot of examples when you watch the show and even signs that peter is suffering from perfeectionism as the occasional times he does something like when he knocked a vase over he was so scared of how his mum would react to this one innocent mistake that he cried and said he would be banished and never loved again to the point Henry said he would take the blame for him because he said he's more used to being the one in trouble and they bounded over this for a moment. Again all the examples have innocent sides like a child being scared of getting yelled at because they broke something, the younger child being babied or believed more or allowed to act more childish compared to the older one. But equally if you watch it through the eyes of imagining henry grew up with a damaged relationship with his family and he was telling a therapist about these incidents then it really makes you stop and think is this just a child feeling neglected and his parents always expecting the worse and reducing him down to nothing more than "horrid" and a burden or something to be punished and something to blame so he acts up and does what they expect because its all he knows and all he can do for them to notice him? Would love to open up this audience to the topic if anyone knows the show I'm on about

With all love, if it’s not rude to talk about the age of young adults why is it rude to report the age of people who are older? That implies some sort of shame or that age is bad, when in reality, it’s an accomplishment for outliving death. If we can acknowledge age as an unemotional fact of life then we can celebrate aging instead of being ashamed of not being young anymore.

Adam I love your channel but I do believe your original bias towards the validity in her statements were based in misogyny. Because her statements were more “emotional”, people have been negging her. The fact that the Mr Beast backlash didn’t happen until men spoke on it speaks volume to the audience Mr Beast has, and the claims of misogyny on the beast games production set. Still, I know you are a learning compassionate person and am happy you took time to understand her and platform her when all the other men in commentary have been neglecting or ridiculing her statements.
@theBestElliephant
@theBestElliephant Ай бұрын
Uhm. Maybe, but there is a statistical phenomenon to discount the first "outlier" you see before you recognize it's a trend. One thing is not like the others until it's not just the one thing, and they make it ok for the others to come forward and it turns out there were _a lot_ of others. Sorry, tldr I'm an engineer, but imo you need evidence of a trend to validate a theory, and Adam didn't have that info. Love Ro, have followed her for years before this. The way she handled it was extremely classy and the way this fell apart over time was extremely predictable, she's just the first and that has some inherent risks. She was in a better position than others to take that risk, but that absolutely doesn't discount the risk she was taking or the hardship she has to endure. At least it's not as high a risk as speaking out against like Boeing? Retrospectively, it's easy to say she wasn't alone based on what we know now. But it does usually take someone coming forward to let other people know it's relatively safe, and the more prominence the first person has, the more likely other people are to feel safe.
@jacob4448
@jacob4448 Ай бұрын
@@theBestElliephantExactly, it’s the same with Colleen and Adam. No one believed him for 3 YEARS before finally others came out. It’s much more likely that many were doubtful of her because she was earlier on and also already spoke out where nothing happened
@theBestElliephant
@theBestElliephant Ай бұрын
@@jacob4448 She deserves all the credit for starting movement, but without other people confirming the situation, I honestly can't say Adam was in the wrong. Anyone can say anything about anyone else, but without other people coming forward or other evidence, it doesn't matter what their gender is, they aren't gonna be believed. He's not in the wrong for fact-checking with the resources available to him at the time.
@earthtoanisa.8476
@earthtoanisa.8476 Ай бұрын
@@theBestElliephant the way you just used stats to discredit what i said and basically tell me i couldn’t possibly be right is exactly what i mean when i said men don’t believe women until other men believe women. its a social and cultural bias that has been conditioned in every human being. living under patriarchy has an impact, i dont need stats to determine that people would have taken her more seriously if she was a man.
@theBestElliephant
@theBestElliephant Ай бұрын
@@earthtoanisa.8476 Bruh. It's not a gender thing, it's a math thing. I wouldn't believe a singular man who spoke out against a well-known woman, which is why I referenced Boeing. She isn't dead in a ditch, like men who have gone against the powers that be, you can calm down. I didn't disbelieve Ro when she spoke out, I just needed more data. Caution isn't bad, inaction in the face of decisive data is. That's not what Adam had. Ironically, you'd have a better case if you used stats to show she would've been more likely to have been believed, but who needs provable data when you have your feels, I guess.
