"That show was made to highlight the evil of money and capitalism, not give you ideas " Very very on point. It's the same reason why the production of Squid Game expressed their dislike of him recreating the games of the show because for OBVIOUS reason, it's a show calling out capitalism and Mr.Beast GLORIFIED it. The period product thing cannot be stated enough. It is humiliating, degrading, and NOT SAFE to be denied period products. There's a reason folks are pushing for tampons and pads to be available in every public restroom. If toilet paper is a basic necessity why are period products not considered that too? Would men like to see women bleeding everywhere? And in the context of a competition, that puts women at a disadvantage if they are playing in soiled underwear. Horrible
@mjwildy2359
@mjwildy2359 2 ай бұрын
It's a health hazard! Blood-borne pathogens can carry disease, potentially exposing other people if someone bled through, and it's incredibly unhygenic to not have access to pads/tampons.

I honestly think that if you sat in the office of someone who argued that period products weren't a necessity and said how much you agreed with them, how much more comfortable you were without them! Then mentioned you were on your period right then and were so relieved to know you didn't have to worry about staining the seat (because obviously they're fine with that- the obvious consequence of no period products) they would in fact think that everyone having a period should be using some sort of period product 😂

To give Adam some grace, the way she handled (or really didn't handle) a lotta the Colleen stuff probably soured him, and understandably so. I'm glad he was able to separate his feelings about that from her as a person and the work she's doing to hold MrBeast accountable though.

@theBestElliephant
@theBestElliephant 2 ай бұрын
@@blib4328 Reaching out in private doesn't automatically mitigate a somewhat lukewarm public response. Especially when a big part of how Adam got burned in the first place was the huge difference between public perception and private conversations. I guess my point was I see how the friction/miscommunication happened, it's not Ro's job to be held accountable for Colleen (especially given her reputation of avoiding 'drama' at the time) but she could've taken a more publicly supportive stance for Adam. It was big of Adam to realize what he had been kinda taking out on her and not just play lip service but really take to heart the changes he did. It's easy to say we would be as gracious hypothetically, it's another thing to not be petty irl.

FIRST THIS INTERVIEW WAS AMAZING! It's scary to realize Rosana got locked in a freezer and nobody would have known and barely batted an eye. It's another thing to learn about all of those poor competitors and the Healthcare workers who cared for them at the ER better than the production company. It shouldn't be at this point. If Mr. Beast actually ends up dropping people into the Ocean to swim to an Island, I 100% see someone dying of their injuries since they are already exhausted. The lack of safety practices are horrifying... and to know that KZbin Originals got CANNED after the games entirely? Not a conspiracy theory. (Also we love the Gabriel Hannah lore drop From Rosana'w perspective like 4 or 5 years later HAHAHA)
@TheElf_Online

Yeah I have no clue how they don’t legally require it but where I work all freezers have to have easy fail safes to open from the inside even when locked to prevent that exact thing from happening as well as an emergency button. Something like a hundred people a year DIE from being locked in freezers and it’s horrifying how easily that could have happened to her.

I used to be a lifeguard. 100% someone is dying in that open water challenge. You gotta have lifeguards with jet skis, paddle boards, extra boats, and a helicopter for life flight ready. If he's doing that with inexperienced open water swimmers? Death. Do y'all know how dangerous wave pools are? This is the open water! It's MORE dangerous. Oh God I'm so worried for those contestants.

There's the withdrawal symptoms from the meds, the sheer anxiety of the looming seizure you are almost guaranteed to have, the intense experience of a seizure in the first place, the symptoms going back on the medications. This is not something to be taken lightly. Anticonvulsant medication changes your brain. When I first went on the medication, my Mom called my neurologist daily because I was literally high and having breakdowns and talked about seeing things differently than reality. I cried because I thought a pillow was less than a foot from me but it was across the room. I was LOOPY. Seizures are also TRAUMATIC. This is unacceptable!

My ex is an epileptic and holy shit this made me so mad. The amount of TBI and concussions he gets from his is unreal and that's just at home in a safe place, like people can seize until your brain herniates and turns to jelly that's terrifying to think that could've happened. It's like he doesn't even see them as human.

The lifeguards didn't do anything until it was too late. Open water guarding is a different ball game. You can't hire just anyone for it. But also, the CrossFit games did the triathlon in the WRONG order! You Swim first for a reason! That reason is SAFETY. It's not safe for them to run, then swim. So both the games and the guards are to blame here.

As far as I can tell, nobody can really say if it's legal or not, because it's a question of whether KZbin counts as "broadcast". It would probably have to go to court to decide that. But it's hard to see how it's not at least against the spirit of that law.

It is extremely upsetting that the Amnesty International courses I'm taking rn (for helping friends in Palestine) are handy here - preventing human rights violations is literally the role of states (countries) in the international system. The United States is legally responsible for people's well-being, even if we don't have clear national laws for New Media yet. We are not good about complying with ~legally binding~ international human rights agreements. Our national laws will not be updated to provide adequate protections without extensive pressure and tbqh, a miracle or two. I'm glad people are speaking up. It's important to get eyes on this before the worst happens, if possible. Be loud, we gotta start bothering companies and politicians 💜

about something rosanna said around the end of the stream- i don't know if you've heard of the term "muckraker" before since it was coined in the USA, but it refers to journalists in the progressive era of the US who "claimed to expose corruption and wrongdoing in established institutions, often through sensationalist publications" that's exactly the kind of journalism you do as a video creator who spotlights celebrities with HUGE issues like jimmy. also muckraker sounds like mucker lol

It’s a genuinely heartbreaking situation. On a side note, I left a comment on another KZbinrs video on how people owed Rosanna an apology for how they treated her when she first came out and I got a scary number of replies saying “for what?” I almost thought people were being purposefully ignorant, then I remembered his biggest supporters are mostly pre-teen/teen boys, which are accidentally ignorant on account of the brain not being fully developed.

"They're scared but they need the money" "It's all about social appearances" Combine this with people starving, unable to afford homes, feeling so empty with mental health issues. While 'they' spend thousands on icebags, dresses made of diamonds and big hats. I think of the general concepts of the hunger games and squid games. We are being forced to compete to survive by our government and for the entertainment of self made mentally unstable glamerous &/or nefarious people. I remember Hunger Games feeling so far from reality. Now it's BECOMING our reality.
