I get the impression it's more like she's got control issues and can't admit when she made a mistake or was wrong. She starts off taking control of everything and doesn't realize it's way more than she can handle, and rather than admit that and start talking about spreading it between everyone more she just feels frustrated and blames them for not taking more burden. I have a parent that's had that pattern throughout my life but is getting better. Blair doesn't think she's ever truly in the wrong beyond a few individual actions (which, her explanations quietly cross the line to feeling like she's trying to moralize or justify them so they're still not REALLY wrong) so when these situations pop up she refuses to see anything as anything other than her being a victim.
@Pajali
@Pajali Жыл бұрын
Wait, so Blair’s defense against plagiarism is that she improperly cited a source in her video but had it clearly cited in the script (that no one will see), so it’s fine? Weak sauce. Inadvertently failing to cite an entire quote is still failing to cite an entire quote. If it’s unclear whether the information is yours, you’re doing it wrong.
@elleblythe8355

actually she misrepresented what happened👀 The original documentary was presenting info from a legal document. She pulled entire sentences from the doc, but only quoted info from the legal document. iNabber explains it so much better than I can lol
@MissCaraMint
@MissCaraMint Жыл бұрын
It’s more like she took an entire passage from the documentary, cited only the quote that the documentary was itself quoting (a passage in the lawsuit, which yes is cited as being from the lawsuit in her video), and then buried the link to the documentary in her linked sources among more than 60 other links as an unnamed, and anonymous random KZbin link. I know because I found the video and went through her linked sources to find the damn thing. If I didn’t know what it was and that it was there would never have found it. My personal and admittedly uncharitable opinion is that the link was only included to provide plausible deniability against plagiarism accusations like this. No one who has gone to college would ever think that this was sufficient citation, so my opinion is that this was on purpose.

I could put quotation marks around the entirety of A Tale of Two Cities, and that wouldn’t mean I wasn’t plagerizing
@MissCaraMint
@MissCaraMint Жыл бұрын
@@sisterseverus That’s a very interesting discussion to have actually. I would say it depend on if someone tried to claim it as their own, yes. However, Dickens is in the public domain, and so you have a bit more freedom to play around with stuff like this. Remember when there was a wave of parody books published of classic works of litterature with a few words changed in order to include zombies, sea monsters, or androids? I wouldn’t call that plagerism. Mostly because the work was so famous that there was no way anybody could miss who the original author was, but also because of the parody aspect, and lastly because of the public domain status of the works. Of course now we are talking art rather than academics. Which changes things dramatically. Now putting quotations around the whole of A Tale of Two Cities, and put it out on the internet under your name is of course different. However could well be seen as a joke, ebcause it’s so stupid. After all nobody would believe you because it was so blatent, and can you really plagerize something if nobody was ever going to believe you? I would like to hear your thoughts on that. Is it possible to plagerize something so well known? Or does it fall into some other category?

A lot of Blair’s work isn’t straight-up plagiarism (the sources are named), but a LOT of her script is just quoting entire paragraphs straight from those sources, so it’s very much like listening to the audio version of a newspaper article. She used to put more of her own personality into her scripts, but when her channel grew and she started outsourcing her scriptwriting, it felt like a lot less effort was put into making the content distinct from her sources. It also felt like she was just reading the script without even looking it over first (just from how awkward the delivery was sometimes). I stopped watching her a while back because of that, so the fact that she torpedoed her whole channel by accusing somebody else of copying her VERY MUCH STANDARD editing was mind-boggling.

What she was called out for as plagiarism is very much plagiarism. Plagiarism is more complex than just not citing a source. Misquoting, paraphrasing, etc are also forms of plagiarism. I think the person she plagiarized even publicly stated it was plagiarism? Could be confusing people but.
@riana8829
@riana8829 Жыл бұрын
The right way of doing it would be paraphrasing or re-explaining what is being said NOT word by word. If she said "In this documentary, (person's name) says that...." then maybe she can argue that it's not plagiarism because she made clear that it's not her words but a reference. Only citing the source in the sources could still be counted as miscitation because not everyone checks the sources nor have the time to see page by page which source she was referring to. Unfortunately for her, slapping a quotation mark doesn't count as citing so it's not a good defence. It's literally the first thing they teach you when you're writing a research paper in high school. I think someone missed her ap english classes lmao.
@MissCaraMint
@MissCaraMint Жыл бұрын
@Riana Honestly I think she could have gotten away with using the full quote in this case if she was just said “according to…” as an introduction. Part of the documentary quote was in turn quoting the actual lawsuit after all. She did credit the lawsuit part, so all she had to do was acknowledge that the statements leading up to that were quoted from a different source. A little awkward, but she could have plausibly claimed to like his phrasing of the info. It didn’t need to happen. In fact non of this needed to happen.

Going back through this at about 43:20, the context on her statements about Wonder's car breaking down etc all tie into how Blair insisted in buying him a car that she then repossessed and threw away his personal items (think camera equipment and 100k play button). She financially abused Wonder and became his employer, landlord, and source of his vehicle. And she can and did revoke two of those in ways that have put Wonder in small claims court against her.
@HayleighPaige
@HayleighPaige Жыл бұрын
Also - another creator brought up a point about her plagiarized video: the citations on screen only cite the court case. But her long narration is word-for-word copying the documentary’s narrator. The citation was not clear whatsoever. Maybe it was an editing mistake - but the mistake makes it plagiarized. She copied the documentary narrator word for word, and only cited the court case that the documentary narrator was himself paraphrasing. It’s so clear that it’s stupid - there’s a reason she didn’t play the side by side clip in her video 🙄

Adams reaction is so funny. I'm just in the beginning still but the plagiarism thing has me confused also. I believe she used a quote from a documentary and didn't properly source it at the time. She didn't make sure her viewers would know it wasn't her words. She basically stole them, didn't properly cite the source & denied that's plagiarism. While it wasn't a large portion of text it was still someone else's quote not properly used. Had she done that on a college paper, she would definitely be in trouble. Using the reasoning that she didn't know better doesn't excuse it. Just admit you did it when you were still learning, and it wasn't intentional, but you learned from your mistake. This is too much. Also if she's using quotes or clips from other people's work unless that work is fair use (I doubt it is) or she had their permission (I doubt she did) then that is stealing. You can't take clips or quotes from someone else and use it in your own work without proper citation and proper use. "Borrowing" content from other people even if you give them credit is maybe not plagiarism if she doesn't pass them off as her own but it's still stealing and copying, which isn't any better.

Remember to clean your newly pierced ears regularly and check for infection. Do not remove the piercing when you do this. You want to just keep it clean and relatively undisturbed. After a couple months you can start changing you earrings. Just be careful about the materials those earrings are made of. You don’t want to deal with an allergic reaction in a newly healed piercing. It’s bad enough in a healed piercing. If it does get infected or an allergic reaction occurs I recommend going to the piercing shop to get it removed. Usually they have lots of experience and advice about what to do from there. And if you are still unsure or it gets worse, go to the doctor.

Claims that certain "chapters" have shut down - they have not; they're just no longer called chapters so she was able to twist the name/structure-change to prove her narrative; claims that one of our sub-organizations does pedophilia/child abuse apologia when it actually used to fight pseudoscientific practices in the field of psychology that were used to put innocent people (many of whom were LGBTQ) in prison for pedophilia or "Satanic Ritual Abuse" of minors. She never attempted to interview a single current member for the video. She only featured members of a front group that pretends to be pro-LGTBQ and even disabled and basically has spent the past few years hacking our private social media pages, then using that info to doxx, harass and slander us...and then cry about being bullied when we sue them for defamation...because they defamed us. Sorry, if you defame someone, you don't get to complain when they sue you for defamation. Though they were harassing us before the video came out, the video did seem to embolden them and the harassment did get worst. Some members had to go completely off-line. All this time, most of us assumed that she just happened to fall for this front-group's disinformation not knowing about their abusive behavior and greedy true intentions and that was why she double-downed when we tried to correct the info in her video. After watching TheClick's video and learning about her use of alt-accounts to hack, spy, doxx, harass, smear etc... it's now pretty clear that she chose to work with that group BECAUSE she respects and admires that kind of behavior. It also made me wonder about the honesty in her other videos I used to respect. Like, she either only lied about our one fringy religious group or more likely, she lies about a lot of groups in order to make her videos more "exposé-ish" and juicy. Truth is usually too boring for youtube info-tainment documentaries. She also did a very similar low-blow tactic as she did with TheClick: she brought up something cringy our co-founder said over 20 years ago as proof that we're all currently antisemitic or racist. Said co-founder has apologized multiple times (some of which were in like long essay format) but she conveniently pretended those didn't exist and that his current views/actions don't matter. Like with TheClick, she'll give the half-ass disclaimer that "yes, people can change..." but it's usually followed with a big "but" and some statement on how they were perfectly woke from the moment they were born so no excuses for other people. Not long after her video on us came out she started getting platformed by Leftist youtubers I had come to respect. It was disheartening so I tried to warn them. For the past year I have made numerous attempts to inform those leftist youtubers about her abusive and dishonest nature with absolutely zero response, acknowledgement or action. Most Satanists know we're going to be disliked or not taking seriously by the broader society so I don't care about changing anyone's religious or philosophical opinions. I do care about the truth though and that whatever your opinion is of us, that it is based on accurate information and that the information is sourced in an ethical manner. Hope someone reads this and gives a shit. Peace

One critique I haven't heard anyone else bring up is her insistence that Dec 24th (Christmas Eve) is not Christmas. For many families, especially those of European and/or Catholic heritage, Christmas is celebrated on the 24th - at least the more important parts (family, religious, traditions etc...). Having to work on the 24th IS working on Christmas. Maybe not for you, but maybe for them. Participating in a family holiday get-together is much more involved than just showing up in the nick of time for a dinner or breakfast. A part of the "spending the holiday with your family" includes the day before or after for cleaning, cooking, hosting, religious ceremonies etc. It's also possible his parents are divorced meaning he would then be attending two different Christmases on two different days.

Yes. In Norway we for example have our big dinner and open presents on the 24th. We might then have another nice but not as big family dinner on the 25th. It’s so ingrained that we call the 23rd “little Christmas Eve” and often refer to it as “the night before the night” or possibly “the eve before the eve” depending on your taste in translation. I don’t think this is the case for Wonder in particular, but it’s common enough that it might have easily been. Which makes Blair’s point a lot worse.

So her response was to talk shit, make accusations and reveal personal things told to her in confidence when they were 'friends'. I dont know if I missed something but I saw no proof backing her claims and she just comes across to me as a huge pos and manipulator. Gross.. Side note, love your videos and vibe Adam!

Honestly this doesn’t even get into everything Blair has done. She wants to act all high and mighty and accuse Legal Eagle, a copy-write lawyer, of plagiarism, yet in 2019 she allegedly ripped off the channel Cruel World Happy Mind pretty blatantly.

From what I see in all these commentary videos.... Sad Milk was a buncha friends who all had their OWN channels, getting together in streams to laugh at cringe memes from Reddit. But the channel started making money, and Blair made herself the "manager" and started playing the victim card about how nobody would help her. I think her plan was to make everyone feel a sense of obligation, and start neglecting their own channels to help her with Sad Milk.Their channels would drop off the radar, Sad Milk would become her channel, and they'd all be her "employees". OT and Click *quit* instead... and she went full "troll mode" to punish them. But sadly, it actually worked with Wonder--- she made him a flippin' wage-slave, then fired him & left him broke & practically homeless... and he's now trying to rebuild his own audience from the bottom.

Not a Blair fan or defender but I wanna TLDR her first point for anyone else who got lost because dang it was wordy lol! Basically her argument was she was 'citing a source' not 'plagiarizing' which like....okay kinda a valid argument because she did infact link and gave credit to said source. Thats about where any and all of her good arguments end in this video....

When Blair started talking about reading from a script in the start, it kind of confused me. She literally isn't showing her face, so it's not like it would really matter if she told us or not. With The Click and Wonder, it made sense since they show their faces and you can see them glancing at a script which some people might misconstrue as "fake". With Blair, to me, it just felt like she was scraping for some extra credibility by telling us something that ultimately wouldn't really matter if we knew or not. In my eyes, it tears that credibility away even more since if she was working on a script, that means she had the best opportunity to fact check EVERYTHING before recording, editing and posting. Instead, she wrote a script and outwardly lied about easily debunkable things as if it wouldn't damage her reputation more when others inevitably go against her with clear and substantial evidence. I seriously hope that her current researchers, script writers, editors etc are ok. Edits - punctuation and grammar

Her conclusion is hysterical. She says the one point she takes responsibility, but she has not taken any. It just sounds like the only thing she's saying she's taking responsibility for it is that she picks bad friends. LOL I actually seen both womder's & Clicks in full. They had receipts witnesses and great points. Plus when you said I take responsibility for something they actually did. The seemed genuine to. None of these qualities are in Blair' s video.
