They can do the cease and desist, but a lawsuit would be thrown out because the records are public. Anybody who feels victimized by the records being public would need to take it up with the court/local government. The most you can do to Alexa would be to report both the post and her account. I can't believe the public hasn't already forced it to be removed.

Here's the thing. If it's public information they can't sue. But she's saying she got this information from the Freedom of Information Act. Those documents usually come censored. The names of minor victims especially, but stuff like addresses DEFINITELY shouldn't have been left unredacted. So either someone at the court house messed up (which does happen unfortunately) or that's not where she got these documents from. If she lied about where she got the documents, she probably could be sued. Because that information wasn't supposed to be public.

they might be able to sue civilly for different reasons that came from the action of releasing the documents like the names, addresses, etc. But to my knowledge i don’t think they can be sued for releasing the documents, this happened with a true crime creator before who obtained documents to a case also relating to a minor from a foia request then uploaded them to her Patreon. I remember the family of that victim saying they could sue for misc reasons but they ultimately wouldn’t bc of the pain they’d have to relive again after already living through the trial. So i get why the victims in this case wouldn’t but i hope if they want to they do and get what they deserve.

Alexa had some issues at the beginning of the year too I forget the entire details but like.. I was a member of her channel for about a month but cancelled pretty quickly because of the mess that unfolded in her discord server for members. She basically emotionally traumatized her moderators and the whole ordeal with that gofundme that she claims was fraudulent... I don't know if it was but she handled the whole situation extremely poorly. Her whole server blew up basically. I cancelled my membership bc I only really joined to see what was up in the server and potentially connect with other survivors. Ultimately it was a mistake to support her though because she consistently fucks up!!! She is very irresponsible to release those documents to the public. I'm really glad this is coming to attention because I felt like Alexa's way of running eat predators was almost cult like. I mean, she has cult leader personality. She doesn't accept criticism, she exploits her fans for financial gain and like... Idk it felt off. The whole thing felt off. Maybe it's a bold thing to say but she gave me this odd feeling maybe not a cult BUT she gave off the energy of someone who doesn't accept anything but praise. And someone who can't accept criticism shouldn't be in a position like hers where she's trying to form a community like Eat Predators.

I'm still currently a Sloan subscriber, but I've definitely been noticing that his engagement strategy seems to rely on keeping his audience half-informed, and then asking them to speculate on the rest in his comments. He's starting to become notorious for reading half a statement instead of the full thing. If you're chronically online (affectionate) enough to watch 5+ different creators cover the same story, you'll start to notice that it's always Sloan who's presenting the radio remix version. So I'll definitely be watching for if/how he addresses this.

If these documents were legitimately obtained through the freedom of information act, then the lawsuit would be dropped cause technically this is public information. A cease and desist might work but suing, Unfortunately, will probably do nothing. I feel so bad for these victims, Alexa has put them into a terrible spot

Aren’t these people in their 30’s? I’m 33 and I watched Zoey 101 religiously. So I’m fairly sure she’s at least my age if not older. And then her mom is what in her 50’s?? This is just embarrassing for them. Also to add-she talks about people harassing her daughter. You are way more mature and enlightened than I was at your age. I indulged in too much people-pleasing and fear that I will lose my "place" in society. Life is just much more liberating when you are open with your views and frustrations. I've chosen to let go of people that were detrimental to my mental health and well-being. I wish I was as honest as you are when I was younger. And I agree that victims who hurt other people don't get a pass. As victims of such circumstances, we are already dealt with a difficult hand of cards. It really is up to us to work above and beyond no matter how painful the process is. Understanding the victims is the first step. Helping and supporting them to what comes next is our choice. No matter how sorry or hurt the victim is by their circumstances, the only person that can really help a victim is themselves.

you know, as someone who used to be a huge zoey 101 fan, none of this surprises me. When the stuff between Alexa and Jamie would come up most people considered Alexa the victim but not someone who should be on social media. She would use it to have long public breakdowns and then delete them. I think she liked that people were finally paying attention and validating what happened to her, but I don't think she understands the complexities of victims. She wants it to be black and white and it scares her to be wrong.

Police are required to redact personally identifiable information of witnesses, minors, and informants from case files, public proceedings, and public disclosure requests. There are minor victims'first names and witness names and addresses in documents obtained directly from the police or police website? Odd. That could be a case against the police agency for disclosure. There are federal level laws and guidelines, let alone state laws and policies. I'm not gonna dig, but the Google docs source (Google drive folder owner and location) is important and the docs intended viewer is important. For court proceedings and for police internal use, it may not be redacted, but for FOIA, it would.

Although she always appeared happiest when she was the "main" protestor and the leader, once the limelight moved away from her she seemed to behave differently and became more agitated and defensive but not for other victims. (Sealed) It is NEVER ok for anyone to post information on MINOR VICTIMS OF ANY CRIME!! The fact that Alexa, who makes PLENTY of money from retelling others’ stories of trauma whilst claiming to “support victims”, did this is **DISGUSTING**. As a legal professional, this is a HUGE mistake that can be actionable!! That means that if these documents WERE LATER SEALED BY A COURT ORDER, Alexa CAN be penalized for publishing them. I cannot understand why Alexa is so incredibly triggered by a VERY standard list of questions from a journalist. She had EVERY opportunity to defend herself, clarify any misstatements or misinformation, or even refuse to offer any comment on a specific topic/question. 🤬😤 The fact that she STILL has it up seems a desperate attempt to become “relevant” again- because THAT seems to be the MOST IMPORTANT THING to Alexa Nickolas. 🙄😵‍💫💯🎯⚖️ Thank you, Adam, for continuing to be your amazing self. I'm gonna be straight up with you about the Sloan thing: I selected "do not recommend channel" for his videos in my recommended after Aaron Carter died. I always felt like his videos were kind of money hungry in quantity. I watched one of multiple videos about Aaron Carter's death, and when he talked about his drug use, he showed *actual fucking videos* of the guy popping pills and huffing inhalants on Instagram live and shit. Fucking disgusting. And for that to be monetized??? After the guy fucking died??? You can acknowledge that it happened without showing multiple clips of it to thousands of people on fuckin KZbin. I left a comment about it but I'm honestly still amazed no one gave a shit about that.
