Unfortunately, I was one of those. I'm not "chronically online," so I completely overlooked topics and controversies I didn't understand or know about. I was only paying attention to vlogs, couple content, and "documentaries." It's honestly thanks to Adam, who filled in more than blanks on Shane/etc.'s background (since becoming Adam's subscriber last summer). So children don’t understand the difference between giggling 🤭 because something is genuinely funny and giggling because they are uncomfortable and the situation is awkward… and because of that there are people like Shane who made content for children that was sexually awkward and not funny!!! I started watching Shane Dawson when I was around 7 or 8 and was a fan for YEARS. I never found him funny until I was a preteen, and even then a lot of the jokes made me uncomfortable but I didn’t really know why. I even remember my mom walking in on me watching a video of him and Trisha ‘reviewing’ sex toys, and that’s when she became really concerned about what I was exposing myself to. They absolutely did. Many members of his family appeared in his old videos back then. He has videos of him and his ex asking his 12 year old niece/cousin (don’t remember rn which), making her extremely uncomfortable, as her mom and the rest of the family watch and laugh. Also, his mother went on Omegle with him and was sitting right next to him in the infamous clip of Shane asking random 12 year olds he met there to twerk for him and do other overtly sexual acts, and she just laughs along and encourages the kids.
