It's lovely watching Meryl skating and although at some point athletes retire it is sad that she's no longer skating competitively. Her flexibility and fluidity is outstanding. Watching her and indeed any ice skaters brings back bitter-sweet memories. Like many who watch these videos, I used to figure skate, many years ago now, but lived a few hours from the rink and as a child my parents decided it wasn't safe to have me travel there and back alone and were too busy with my younger siblings to keep getting up at 4am a few times a week to drive me then wait around for my lessons to finish. So, sadly for myself at the time, before I got too involved in competitions, my skating lessons and free skate time was ended. Anyone whose going to ice skate needs to be relatively close to a good ice rink and have the support of parents for their skating and ballet lessons. Meryl is one of my favourite skaters and it was a lovely change to see Adam on the ice with an Olympic skater like Davis. She answered, "retirement happened!" when she fell and Adam asked, "what happened?" which was amusing because she hasn't lost any of her grace, flow or flexibility as a skater. And Adam and Meryl had quite good connections doing twizzles together. This was a great video.
