@@mylanrichmond3441 I am currently learning this Fugue and yes, is SO hard, Ive played guitar for 8 years and it made me feel like a noob. To be fair I swapped from Electric guitar to Classical not too long ago, but is a totally different world when you go from "Fast and clean" kind of difficulty to "Make sure you can hear that middle voice through the whole song" HAHAHAHA, I swear, maintaining Bach voices is harder than maintaining a family 😭

Just listening to the first bar I already knew that this was going to be something special. I believe it's the first performance I've ever heard where the guitarist doesn't use pull-offs in those first bars, but just fingers the notes. One thing on the articulation: When the meldoy echoes itself you could Change the Tone colour at least or articulate it a little bit different. It has already a strong effect If your tone colour base line is pointicello because its so stable and you go slightly to sul tablo. Also rhythmically you could have a more stable Baseline and your emphasizing pauses would have an even greater effect and provide a nice contrast. Phrasing was very nice, its a strength of yours!

Hi Curatica C. These are some fair and insightful critiques (which I largely agree with). Thanks for commenting.
@curaticac53916 жыл бұрын
I hope that I didn't offend you, which I didn't mean to; quite the opposite, I was trying to offer-- what in my humble opinion would be -- some advice to help the performance gain some dynamism. Musical talent is such a wonderful gift -- it could fill one's life with satisfaction and enjoyment! People who have it are really blessed. Another thing; not every music fits any performer, and there are zillions of examples; picking one randomly: Daniel Barenboim recorded Beethoven's sonatas when he was sixty; now, Barenboim is notoriously a great musician, he can play Mozart outstandingly, but his temperament didn't fit Beethoven volcanic style at all.
@adamroth756 жыл бұрын
Hi. No, I'm not offended at all, and I'm grateful to you for taking the time to listen and share your thought constructively. The great thing about playing music is that you can always get better. I know I have weaknesses, and some of them I expect I'll be able to improve! Your comments about the tempo dragging and there being a need for more vitality are spot-on. Sometimes to push myself I'll put on a recording of Eduardo Fernandez. He plays with such relentless determination and life that I can scarcely imagine myself being able to play that way. Which means, of course, that by trying to do it-however meekly-I expand my image of what's possible and make myself a little more complete an artist. cheers from Chicago.
