Really like the Jazz with that deeper piece. Glad it’s heading North.

Well Jon. All 4 of those horns sound great. I prefer the darker sound but would take any of them.

Thank you. These are all nice but they aren’t all mine. :) Two will be heading to Canada soon, but a friend was kind enough to let me sample them in transit. Best wishes, Jonathan

I like the sound of the King the best. Seems like it's warmer with a few more lows in the sound.

I tried a King Super 20 years ago and I really struggled to play it. This one, well, it's a dream. :) Great player and, I agree with you, it's got a superb sound.

Great horns! Interesting concept with the selmer's valves being offsetted. How do you go about identifying values and dates on such horns? Do you appraise them based on other listings?

If you're checking the serial on a Bach, just google 'Bach Trumpet Serial Numbers' and you'll have a few websites that will give the info up. Free, of course. :) I have a fair idea of horn value just because I've kept up with them for the last 15 years or so. Good questions! :)

@@JonathanMilam1 Thanks! Was wondering because of some listings for very old models that I was interested in identifying. Keep up the great content (:

Hi Jonathan. Have you played a Callet Sima? If so, how does it compare to the Jazz?
@JonathanMilam1
@JonathanMilam1 2 ай бұрын
Hey, Chris, greetings. I've never played a Sima. The Jazz is essentially a step-bore horn that moves from a ML to a Large bore. I believe the Sima is a tighter Medium bore feel, if I recall correctly. I know a very good College Professor of Music that tried one for Callet... He found the horn very hard to play but didn't have the nerve to tell Callet, who was well up in years. Still, I've had some people say they liked the Sima. When they were in production, it seemed that I saw a lot of them chaning hands pretty quickly. If you DO get one - let me know what you think. The Jazz is a really easy horn to play; light(er) bell, very easy tone production.
