I bought one of these as a blemish for $400. Ive never had a single issue with it.

I have had one for 3 years and I have never had any problems. I have used new and reloads ammo and around 4000 rounds. Its much easier to clean. Very little carbon in the bolt carrier area.

Piston ARs have soo many advantages over DI. They're cleaner, cooler, more durable, easier to adjust gas
@9unslin9er10 ай бұрын
When built properly, they can run very well. However many piston AR designs fail because of carrier tilt. With 5.56, there is no reason to go piston aside from ease of cleaning. With .308 I would argue piston is superior, because of gassing issues on DI, particularly suppressed.

I have this same upper but mid-length gas. Runs great and have never had any issues in 4 years. It does kick my brass at 1-2 o clock. Not sure why, ive changed the buffer weight but didn't change ejection. I have 2 other adams kits that are on a 10.5 5.56 and 7.5 300blackout. It was a pita to get the 300 to cycle everything. But works fine now for subs and supers. Never had a problem with steel cased either.

Can a normal m lok style hand guard fit on this? Seems like a good deal for under $600 on a piston driven reliable upper

Also is the a2 flash hider pinned/welded or can it come off?

A DI hand guard won't fit on this. Didn't know that so I bought one. Still sitting in a drawer 5 years later.

Midwest, Troy, Magpul, Samson and Daniel Defense all make quad rails and mlok rail that will fit this system. Adams also has a lower profile gas block for the full length type rails

Adams manufactures great firearms - Most AR-15 problems are operator error and operator ignorance. Guys comment on the rifle. They never comment on what they did to damage the rifle. Often times, they don't even know what they did or failed to do was compromising the rifle's integrity. I am simply more inclined to believe a major platform manufacturer has shipped a solid rifle than some sofa lizard that spent his life playing VDO games and eating Cheetos. Most of these guys don't know the name of the tools they grab. Read instructions? Dads read instructions - not me. I will give 'em credit for grabbing a short-stroke piston operated AR-15 over a DI. Yeah...I know Stoner apostle, they're all pistons. Okay, I will give 'em credit for grabbing a rifle that doesn't puke where it eats over one that does NOT puke where it eats. How's that garb ya? Great VDO.

Am i correct is assuming this doesn't need to run a buffer? Do to the gas system i was thinking this would be a candidate for a folding stock, Able to operate while the actual stock is in the folded position. Thanks.
@atranimecs2 жыл бұрын
of course you need a buffer....

@@atranimecs Right i was thinking it was set up like the BRN 180 where a buffer is not needed, I was wrong.

I have a Adams Arms p2. Stay away from this company. My gun absolutely chokes on steel case ammunition. I called customer service and was told they do not guarantee function with steel case ammo. I will never buy anything from them again!

I have 2 of there rifles I like mine BUT! the first 1was junk from the start. Both run any ammo I put through them. The first and should have been my last had to go back Twice. The rear take down pin would walkout because the detent hole didn’t go all the way through, the trigger pin was broken from the start but took me a year to figure it out the trigger would stop resetting I thought it was my hand loads but my other AR’s didn’t have the same problem. When I was Building another lower I took the lower apart and found the trigger pin broke right in the middle replaced its been good. Next it started key holing at about 800 to 1000 round which is total shit. Sent it back took 2 weeks got a new barrel gas block upper receiver now it’s what it should have been from the start only too 4 years! the other upper has been perfect 👌 with no jams of any kind.

Try a heavier buffer weight that should fix it.

@@jack-nv3tyI tried 3 different buffer weights and spring made some little differences but still throw brass at 1-2 o'clock position but when i switch pistons setting to suppress is fine runs fine so im thinking leaving like that hopefully wont causes any issue running suppress mode

...a lot of ARs dont like steel especially in the sub-$900 market sector. Got to pay to play.
