This band is a fucking joke. He missed the first two notes but played fine after that, but because he missed the first two the sound guy turned up the backing track(why tf is that even there) and Skiba got confused. A professional would have said "Alright, that didn't work, lets try again!" or something. Taking the guitar from him and then just straight up ignoring him is the least professional thing I have ever seen a band do.

There is clearly a backing track, which is really disappointing. I don't think the fan's guitar was even on at all. At least bands like Green Day and the Foo Fighters, who both do this kind of stuff all the time, are willing to roll with the punches. But as someone who knows how to play the song (which is admittedly very easy), he looked like he was playing it correctly, even though I don't think his guitar was on. Blink 182, I love you, but if you're going to incorporate an "invite a fan on stage to play" moment as part of your act, at least make it real.

Mark even tries to say sorry to mike and goes to skiba and says isnt trying what it's all about and skiba says NOPE and you can hear a mix of booing and cheering a few fuck yous if you listen closely. Mark is then like OOOOK like in the way someone would go "ooook buddy if you say so..." been watching and listening to them for 20 years and I know Mark was not happy about this and skiba. Even travis gives skiba a look at one point.

In the video you can see: Mark explains when to come in (wait for travis' count and hit the two chords on the snare). He then tells him to make sure the volume is up, and you can hear a little guitar noise as he turns up the volume. Then, he misses the cue. He plays on time after the cue but you can hear 0 guitar on those 2 intro chords. I think since he missed the cue, the sound engineer quickly turned up the backing track and down mikes guitar in case he was about to flub the whole thing. Matt's in-ear should be playing what the crowd hears, slightly tuned to how matt wants to hear it (maybe a little more of his guitar and vocal, whatever he wants). But when the sound enginer straight up turns off his (mikes) guitar, matt probably couldnt hear it either. Knowing that mike missed the intro chords, and now was turned off completely, matt was probably worried mike started late and was playing off time, or possibly was just standing there looking confused. You can see during the verse he tries to check on him but definitely doesn't get a good look. He made a quick decision to get the guitar to save from any further embarrassment, and probably felt weird about it immediately after, which is why he says sorry during the song and then is totally awkward when mark brings it up afterward.

Mark can be seen several times quickly at a glance giving Matt a not so good look and stares him down at one point. Song ends and Mark is obviously feeling bad for Mike and says "Sorry mike" and he goes over to Skiba and says "tryings what it's all about right?" and Skiba is like "NOPE" the crowd boos half cheer. Mark goes "oooook" like in the way you would be like "ooook buddy if you say so" type of way. Mark was definitely not happy i've been watching and listening to them for 20 years and I know if Mark was mad. He doesn't always have singing parts and could've said something to the sound guy or whatever to help remediate the sound issue. Doing what they did is kinda rude when the guy is playing it prettyy well.

If anybody actually knows skiba and has been a fan of his for years, they'd know he's a good guy and an amazing guitar player since before I was even born in 1998. Yes there's a backing track for the guitar, it was placed there so that when they bring up a fan who obviously did not know how to play the song but wanted to show they love their fans, but at the same time don't wanna blow their cover and keep the concert going in the right direction, matt calmly does a motion with his hands before helping the guy quickly give him the guitar back so he can start actually playing the right notes. Why do you think Mark told the kid to put the guitars volume up? Headsets, so the crew and band can see if he actually knows what he's doing, so they can have him actually play the song. Once matt got the guitar did anyone notice he played completely different notes compared to when the kid was playing? Relook at it.

The dude wasn't off time from what I can hear but then again I don't think we can hear him at all because when he stops playing to give the guitar back to Matt, you can hear the guitar track still playing. Actually, he was playing it the way Tom wrote it! The intro Mike is playing is exactly how it should be played. Matt plays the intro the same way as the second intro before the second verse which isn't correct. I think the reason why he took the guitar back is that he couldn't hear himself! But I genuinely don't think this guy was off time or if he was then only Matt could hear him in his in-ears. Can't blame that guy though! He probably couldn't hear himself either

There is literally no difference in sound when the fan stops playing and hands the guitar over. This is incredibly embarrassing for the band. No one's making you let a fan play, but if you're going to, at least actually let them play instead of just using a backing track.

They only used a backing track because the fan was playing lol.. the kid missed his que/count and messed up on the verse too the only reason it worked out was because of the backing track otherwise the fan would have derailed it, but matt is a dick anyways.

Back in the day Tom and Mark would fuck up through out the songs and nobody cared that they did because that’s blink. Blink isn’t supposed to be a perfect play through with backing tracks and shit. It’s supposed to be raw, live messy and punk. If Tom or Mark screwed up they’d just restart the song or make some off hand comment or apology during the song. It’s not they big of a fucking deal. I could hear where he was a little off at parts but honestly with a big venue like that with the lights, the people, the singing and drums I doubt you’d really notice it that much if you were there. I’m glad that Mark tried to salvage this, I have a lot of respect for that. Matt reply with trying doesn’t matter was obviously a joke but it comes off as rude. I’ve heard plenty of times where Matt has fucked up playing “What’s my age again?” or “Dysentery Gary”. Hat’s off to Mike for doing his damned best in a spontaneous situation and Mark for trying not to make the band look like a bunch of dicks.

Muchas veces este tipo de bandas usan guitarras en back para armonizar o darle más cuerpo al sonido, probablemente es lo que pasó (green day en vivo tiene una segunda guitarra). aunque me duele ver que eso pasó haha
