There's also an inherent type of quiet in the winter from everything covered in snow, and all the small animals either gone or hibernating.

Back in the late 50s my father and friends went winter camping a couple of times and the home movies were great! There were tent platforms that they had to chop the snow and ice off first, playing hockey on the lake. And they didn't have the gear like today! And they weren't seasoned campers, just common sense and fun! ❤

My favorite way to make Mac n Cheese is on a smoker. I have a portable pellet smoke that we take camping if we're in a larger group. Smoked gouda and cheddar, with diced up jalapenos, smoked sausage, bacon, and a crumble topping. Have cooked it all in the smoker, but it does dry it out. Make it all up before hand, then place onto the smoker to reheat and get the smoke flavor. Its the best!

Nicely done. Two questions - 1) Have you considered a battery powered chainsaw? 2) Is it possible that your lack of heat is also related to how high the ceiling is in that tent? Seems to me you are spending a lot of energy to heat the upper areas of that tent that do little to keep you warm down at ground level.

Oh great way to start the weekend with a new upload!
@plywoodcarjohnson54128 ай бұрын
Great upload thx! So next winter u should stack up firewood and another chimney! Apparently this house needs two stoves! But this is essentially how I grew up. My father refused to believe there was anything wrong with his newly installed wood heating system (from 1980) So he kept it for all the years. When I moved out at the age of 26 ( I have three older sisters) he finally replaced the heating system. He then realized that he might have been burning 75 percent of wood for 25 years to no use whatsoever. Imagine the waste of time chopping wood all these years.

I have family who live in Canada and your videos make me feel closer to them, although I no longer live in the Great Lakes region...I am in El Paso, Texas, so I don't get to visit them as much as I used to. I look forward to seeing more of your adventures. So happy Chester is doing better!❤

We have loved your channel for a long time and love your content 👍 we have the Dweller Max 2.0 wich runs the same and same size of yours. When we family camp, I bring one milk crate with amazing dry hardwood. It burns hot and slow and you can even dry your wood all summer just for your winter adventures without touching the wood again. We burn any pine all day to keep the tent warm. You guys are awesome 🍻

little pro tip when putting in pegs they go in on an angle not strait in the ground because they can be ripped out without any issue in any wind.

Well Adam, that is a big ass tent. So good to see Chester back on his feet and doing his Chester thing again. (Chester cam) Also Chester and Joelle in the whole video I am so happy. Looked cold though, that wood was terrible, you needed some Ash or Birch to get the fire hot and to last longer. More camping videos please they make me happy, especially with you and Joelle, I love watching people that are in love interact, it makes me hopeful that I may find love one day. ❤ One last thing How is the house? One item to consider taking along would be some hard wood lump charcoal not for cooking but heating overnight since it lasts several hours. Adding some under regular wood make a nice bed of coals and larger pieces would be ideal since its slow burn as well plus a starter for what's put in afterwards. Nice to see Chester back again nearly fully recovered and like any youngster going camping his parents doing most of the work while he runs off some energy..🐾

Great video guys , glad to see Chester doing well. I wonder if the stove would work better if the chimney was longer , rule of thumb for a chimney in a house is at least one foot higher than the house. Just a thought. Now like you guys said the wood wasn't good so that didn't help lol.
