THis is actually so cool, I went to the Jacobs School of music for half a year, and Robbie was a freshman percussionist like me!

I was there at the Central Cal competition, and the reason why the stage was so messy is because it was set up for command performances. His performance was the college marimba command performance and the other stuff was for the other categories' CP's. That was also the room where the ensemble competition took place! Seeing that dude play this live was insane you should've seen people's faces LMAO
@AdamTanPercussion5 жыл бұрын
I see... So they had little time to move stuff I guess? Yes that would have been awesome live 😅
@kylebossert65145 жыл бұрын
Adam Tan I was there too, but I got 3rd for solo marimba. Robbie was incredible haha. The stage was set for percussion ensemble, and in about 5 Minutes, set the stage for command performances.

The second piece really does evoke a Spanish feel, which is something I really enjoy! Greetings from Portugal from a composer and, in my case, intermediate level percussion player.

Hey! I would love it if you did some xylophone content! I’ve started mallet percussion this year after years of brass and plucked string instruments, and I’m playing xylo/glock for my marching band. I would love to learn more about it and see your take on it.

@bobbirdsong68254 жыл бұрын
Music is such a broad thing, there can be “music sports” and “music competitions” that are entirely separate. Drum corps, for example, could very well be argued to be a sport. However, just solo playing for points is just a competition. Music isn’t just related to purely creative art, Y’know.
