@@Mike_5 Did you see the BBC news article about the north/south divide? the ones north of a certain line have to use a different system, so even if the village/town has excellent 3,4,5G, the meter may not get a signal. Some metering companies have been breaking this rule to actually get the meters to work. There's a lot of hate for them, but mainly due to them NOT working as intended. Anything that can be done to get them working if the customer wants it, should be done, imo

600mm on the gas bond mate, either from the meter or inside the property - before the first branch. Current location is alright but it would be nicer to see it inside the meter cab so it's got some protection against corrosion. Good comprehensive video though.

Never understood that requirement... surely it should be where the extraneous conductive part enters the property, IE on the incoming side of the gas. There have been multiple cases of house fires caused by an open PEN causing multiple houses worth of N current going thru the flexible gas pipe to the regulator... I tend to bond BOTH sides of the meter (with a continuous cable)

While you are correct, if the install is only a decade old but say it's a split load and you're replacing with an RCBO board, i'd bend that 'advice' (subject to checking every accessory, we know what new builds are like!)

Adam, re: aerial points.. some smart tv's need the aerial just for inital setup to determine ITV and BBC regions. (stares at phillips). So we always run a co-ax along with the data to the tv point

I don't believe it for a second. I've been using various smart TVs since 2008 with no aerial or satellite feed. You can skip the channel scan, or let it complete and it will find no channels. It doesn't stop you from setting up the TV.

Looking forward to seeing your videos. Just one request. Can you do a video where you don't criticise what's there or who did the work. For example, the white Henley. Just say I think I'll change that for a blue one as that will be more identifiable. That's all!. No need to criticise the previous person. So tired of it in videos where hardly any electrician has ever made a mistake and always talking about a mess, before the craze of doing over-neat DP's came along. Just a request.
