Cut the first box on or to the left of stud ( one less hole ) also use extended wood bit to drill one hole at a tight angle, chuck to the wall😊 Cable will end up half depth of studd, much smaller hole to fill.

Sure I remember something in bulding regs about back to back sockets on partition walls needing intumescent linings to prevent any fire spreading through walls from room to room.

Never heard of that most of the stuff people say ie old boys is there opinion not regs

It’s a fair point, we always used intumescent backing pads in the back box, some people used fire putty, it’s not an opinion, some jobs specified this, the spread of fire through a stud is no different to it spreading through a ceiling, but everyone uses fire rated down lights!

Less of an issue in a contained flat or property. But if it was an HMO, or a set of apartments in a single building then you need fire rated backboxes so fire can't spread between dwellings.

Back to back boxes in a single property is part E I believe which is noise transfer. And (if I remember correctly, as it's been years since I looked at them 😱)it should be 1.5 times the hole size gap between them..

If you are looking for a very good wall chaser. Baier ones are very good. They have ones with 4 or 6 discs and for dry or wet cut. Cut depth up to 45mm.

If you were getting just one Milwaukee SDS already have several M18 normal drills and corded Bosch SDS. I’ve been considering M18 ONEFHPX at £360 or the M18 ONEFHX at £315. Which one should I get, I don’t think the weight difference for me is an issue.
