Ok unpopular opinion but the stickers that come with fuseboard is miles better than brother label stickers and taking off the warning label from the front to then add 3 massive of your own stickers which by no means are pretty is not doing any favours 😂but this is just my opinion not hate😊
@hbarnes24899 күн бұрын
I know you said you people shout at your door doing RCD at 5 times. You have to do it at one times. Cause your testing it at the rated leakage. Times five alone proves nothing. Do it on auto and what would be much better

I've watched your journey from being a young lad with Nick - sweeping up on your first day, and not really sure where life is taking you. Just look at you now fully qualified, with your own thriving business and buying a new house. Not be long before the patter of tiny feet are heard, and I don't mean you'll need to get some mouse traps. Well done mate. Who knows, another year and you might be taking on an apprentice of your own!

Seams a waste of time TBH to fit an rcbo for 1 garage socket. Just add MCB
@JamesEdwards8609 күн бұрын
Seems a waste of time altogether to be honest! Dedicated socket for a <1a trickle charger. Some people have some odd ideas
@AndyK.19 күн бұрын
@@JamesEdwards860 Yeah there is an argument for tapping it off another circuit. But 5 seconds to slot a £3 MCB in is probably worth it. We have no idea what’s going to get plugged into a socket in a garage. Could be his pressure washer. Next year it could be a welder (as he owns a Ford (joke))

Hey Adam, Nice job 😊, Just one thing i thought of.. would you not have been better doing an end box and conduit down the wall into the top of the isolator instead of fire clipping it down the wall?
@AdamDunlopElectrical9 күн бұрын
Hi cheers mate and yes that’s a potential way of doing it , might try that on the next one however I never like to do too entry on outside equipment
@timlarsen501413 күн бұрын
Nice vid Adam. However you should have re-rested your IR readings as you identified that the rotary isolation switch was OFF when you tried to do the R1/R2 tests.

Good video Adam. Just a minor one, as you discovered the isolator open during r1/r2 test, assume it was also open during your initial IR test, so internal cable run may not have been in circuit during test.

Cheers mate You are correct, after I re did every test from the beginning in my little order I do it as when I was focusing on filming and trying to test my brain had a fart 🤣

Hi adam did you protect the heat pump with a type b rcd? Due to the inverter inside the unit? Also if you read installation manual also says type b rcd?
@AdamDunlopElectrical14 күн бұрын
Hi bud in the installation manual it stippulated about using c type for over load and then type b in certain locations however didn’t list locations it wasn’t the most helpful tbh
@paulbell765414 күн бұрын
Type C MCB for inrush current that loads the capacitors on the inverter board. But as the OP said, you also need this via a type B RCD, that will still operate with the various DC noise leaking back up the supply.
@paulbell765414 күн бұрын

Yes, the old hacksaw way works but it can be difficult to get it all the way round especially in a tiny fuseboard cupboard with no clearance/ For my sins, i carry a pipe cutter.... it works fairly well, and is handy on plastic conduit too, with smaller SWA you have to go gentle not to compress the armour into the bedding tho
