National Lampoon's Vacation (1983) - The Filming Locations

All clips used are for entertainment and educational purposes only.
I set out on an adventure to document every location from the 1983 comedy classic National Lampoon's Vacation. This consisted of Flying to Chicago , renting a car and driving cross country along the same route that Clark Griswold and his family did in hopes of making it to Walley World in California . This was an undertaking that I've wanted to do for a very long time and am proud to say that now it is a reality . Enjoy !

The whole family jumped out of our seats when the notification popped up! Breakfast bacon stopped frying, the bread in the toaster sat cold, and everyone rushed the TV. A classic & memorable movie. Although he had a short role in this movie I met and talked with John Candy while I was in Florida (spring break) visiting friends in April 1985. He was with Paramount filming the movie Summer Rental. The meeting occurred in St Pete Beach.

Shannon Yes it was. You often hear negative stories of big time celebrities that are rude ect. when out in public. You really can't blame them for some of their behaviors. It's gotta get old fast. John Candy on the other hand was very kind and courteous to me; and he was very appreciative of the status he made as an actor. In most of the roles you see him act in he was exactly like that in person, no acting however, he was just being himself.
