Love hearing "the good the bad and the ugly" theme in the background

There was a period around that time for about three months where I was listening to nothing but Ennio Morricone. Still one of the best.

Nice work on Marcus. You certainly did more internal surgery than I had to. Your video is very informative and gives me an idea of the inner workings, although my Speed Graphic employs an older 1939 shutter mechanism. I had an antique book binder replace the drop bed leather in front and on the base after removing the original battered dry covering. They have experience covering antique wood book covers with leather, since my Graflex has a wood front. The camera is almost complete. Great idea to give the camera a name which adds personality to Marcus. Thank you for sending me the link. It has been a labour of love restoring my little beauty. Cheers from Nova Scotia.

That's absolutely wonderful. I'm glad cameras such as these are finding new life. I've got a few friends who have completely stripped the leather and refinished the wood with beautiful results. I've considered doing this myself but the leather on Marcus is in such great shape I hate to ruin it. I'd be curious to see your results so if you're on social media anywhere you can din me at @adamwelch.photographist. Take care and good luck with the rest of your restoration.

Very helpful. Just got the same camera and this is great information. You wouldn't happen to know where a step by step video of the shooting process using it would be located?

Now that you mention it I've never actually saw a dedicated walkthrough of it's use. I've actually been considering doing a string of videos on all of my film cameras and I think now I'm going to :) If you want to have a look at the camera in action (not a tutorial) you can have a look at this one kzbin.info/www/bejne/hnucfqR9rJiraMk

Thanks for making this video. I am refurbishing one of these pacemaker speed graphics that has had the focal plane shutter removed and replaced with a metal plate. I’ve got the exterior controls but still looking for pins and curtain. What manual were you referring to? And where can I find it? Thanks again.

That's great! Thanks for reminding me about the manual because I meant to post the links to it with the video. You can find the manual I use herewww.butkus.org/chinon/graflex/graflex_pacemaker_crown_speed/graflex_pacemaker_crown_speed.htm and also check out graflex.org if you haven't already. Lot's of info there.

Hi Adam, great video, really useful, thank you. A quick question, my SG has a stuck 'front, back, trip' sliding switch plus a ineffective shutter release. Would I be able to access these following your lead in the disassembly of the panel you remove and repair around the 15 minute mark ? Thanks again.
@AdamWelch4 жыл бұрын
Hey John, as to the shutter selector switch, you can absolutely access it like I do in the video. I actually managed to get my button stuck once due to a misalignment after I disassembled. For the shutter button, that is a separate assembly from the actual focal plane shutter mechanism. I've never taken that portion apart on mine but you can find the full manual I use here: www.butkus.org/chinon/graflex/graflex_pacemaker_crown_speed/graflex_pacemaker_crown_speed.htm I hope this helps!
