How many watts did you put in them?

Those are led running 15w each I believe. The sockets are rated to 100w I think.

I would try to replace led bulbs instead of halogen?

You could use halogen, led, or incandescent with the new screw-in base. Those are led bulbs I put in, they just look like halogen.
