Лампу легко отремонтировать, и диод поменять, а не заколотить. Но не имеет смысла, после ремонта лампа работает не долго, остальные диоды(а они работают в тяжёлом режиме по температуре) так же начнут по очереди выходить из строя. Разве что поменять все на новые. Сама схема выходит из строя черезвычайно редко

Did two light bulbs. Used both the foil and pencil method. Both worked great for 3 seconds and then went dim, very dim. Not sure what I did wrong.

The idea is to close the cut circuit. If you can solder it, it would last for sure. The pencil method would last very shortly for sure, the foil can last longer, but you need to stick it firmly which would be difficult and once the bulb heats up, the sticker glue would melt and fall.

Sarebbe utilissimo sostituire anche il resistore che regola la potenza di alimentazione dei leds, con uno con valore omico più alto di un 10% circa, per evitare che i rimanenti leds, andando in sovralimentazione si brucino a loro volta a mano a mano...

Why not replace the faulty LED with a new one ? that way you will not lose the brightness plus the circuit is design for the right amount of LED , if short the LED rest of the LED will have higher voltage across it this may blow them up .

This is not glass, it's plastic. Use thin/ sharp knife and put it between the "glass" and the hard plastic, then start "cutting" and prying.
