Fantastic. You know the old saying, "you don't know what you don't know" and it was definitely true in my case: I looked at my pillow blocks for hours trying to figure this out - and thinking that there was no way to press the bearings in without the cast iron pillow block housing exploding. I'm convinced your info just saved me no end of grief. Thank you!

this video just saved us so much work....we didn't have any idea how to replace a similar bearing in a similar flange ..had no idea what those 2 grooves were for....went in smooth as could be for us once we knew the proper procedure Thank you !

Thanks, I was wondering about that, I ended up using a handle off of a Broken Chain Disconnector, instead of a pry bar, but before I seen this video, I was going to beat it in with a hammer, I just installed my first bearing in a housing with no bearing in it, needed it as an Idle Gear shaft or a Slave gear shaft, I'm basically teaching myself Mechanical Engineering, videos like this are a huge help, saves a ton of money, time & effort, now just need to grease it & get a nipple cover I guess.

That design is really smart, strictly keeps the bearing in while it can still be removed, but does that also mean that the bearing can rotate in the housing? So when using this type of bearing unit, I need 2 of these to have a fixed axis dierction?
@SKFPartsInfo6 жыл бұрын
The inner portion of the bearing rotates with the shaft. The type of equipment that you have determines how the ends are held and if you need more than one. Thanks for watching!

What about if the shaft doesn't come out like that how do u remove the bearing from the shaft when it's been there for ever
@SKFPartsInfo5 жыл бұрын
Rust that develops over time can make the removal more challenging. Use a good rust penetrate several times. If that isn't enough to remove it then use heat.

what can i do if I don't have the grease machine you use? and what can I do to make the bearings roll easier? I have two UCP201 - UCP212
@SKFPartsInfo5 жыл бұрын
A standard grease gun can be used in place of the battery powered Lincoln grease gun. If the bearing is not rolling easily make sure the shaft that the bearing is mounted to is in alignment and add addition grease as needed.

Hello. Does it affect water and cause it to break or not
@SKFPartsInfo5 жыл бұрын
The adapter bearing with their double or triple lips seals are very water resistant. If water does get into a bearing it can adversely affect its operation.

Is there any way to remove the seal of the adapter and expose the balls for cleaning ?
@SKFPartsInfo8 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching, the adapter bearing would not need to come apart for cleaning. Greasing the bearing will help maintain the longevity of the part. If the adapter bearing is making noise it may need replacement.
@mustafacalcuttawala45818 жыл бұрын
So what's the machine that you need for greasing it ?
@SKFPartsInfo8 жыл бұрын
The machine used to grease the zerk fitting is a Lincoln 18 volt cordless grease gun. This is a good powerful handy grease gun, but other types of grease guns can be used. Also, depending on the needs or your adapter bearing, we offer non-relubricatable bearings

what size is the two bolt flange ?
@SKFPartsInfo8 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching. SKF supplies many different size bearing and flanges. The video shows an example of how the bearing fits into the two bolt flange and locks onto a shaft. If you need a specific size you can visit a local parts store or distributor that carries SKF premium bearings and they can provide you the correct part for your needs.
