I really like the first composition. It's like I'm standing there in front of the fallen tree, looking at it, wondering how life and death circles around the earth. The log abstract shots are really interesting too. Don't you just love the fact that trees offer so many compositions whether you're close or far? :D

Thanks Arty, the first image is definitely my favorite of the morning .Trees are one of my favorite things to photograph for exactly that reason, they offer so many different opportunities for unique compositions!

I love the last image of the bark. Might sound weird but it reminds me of a top down shot of a jagged coastline.

Thanks David, it's not weird at all I know exactly what you mean. Often when I take pictures of different textures/patterns from the top down I find that they look like drone images above river deltas!
