Another mindset that Americans will have to change is the entitlement mindset. You won't be able to survive in Africa with the entitlement mindset. Overall i like the video and i wish you and family the best on your the journey.

For the most part there should be enough understanding to distinguish between Black Americans and "Americans" just as Africans want the respect of recognition when it comes to their tribes and distinctive cultures. Black Americans for the most part do not come with an entitlement mindset, they also don't come on bent knees to kiss anyone's ass.

Great Observation. In simple terms you move with the flow but create the change you need to see.

I will retire to Uganda a few years from now with my Ugandan wife. Much of my life has been spent living in the developing world (Nicaragua, and Romania soon after the 1989 anti-communist revolution), also I lived in Oman for six years. Those experiences taught me patience and taking things as they come. For sure one of the most important things is to make connections with people. Meet your neighbors! They will be your friends.

💯 facts. You have stated. On my 6th trip to our motherland.. too often it's so peaceful I have to order a bottle of stress from the west..in the usa we wear stress backpacks. In the motherland, once you bridge with a community.. you have just extended your family.. 😊.

Thank u very much for this video! I can’t see our African American brothers coming to Africa and think everything will work out immediately. We are offering u a home, a place where u can fit in immediately if u Learn the culture and the language. And they complain about things that we never offered. Like Africa has huge economic problem. It’s not a secret. And coming to Africa and say no it’s not like America and America is better and bla bla. This is really hurtful. So thank u for this and there are African American who actually doing the effort because that is what we all have to do. If u are not willing to that effort than stay in the US until the job is done. But one thing for sure this stupid consume culture in America will never arrive in africa. So if these kind of things are important to u, u can never feel home in africa. Sorry to tell u. Than please stay in America. Thank u for this video. I really appreciate that ❤
