Globetrotting Fox I’d like to be that optimistic, really I would, I heard some stuff from Keaton saying it’s an unfolding story, but Dos Santos in his apology letter wrote that he never intended for Adam to be a recurring character. So I’m not getting my hopes up. I feel just very disappointed in this show. I still love it as a show about space lions, but they dropped the ball big time with what it means to represent the LGBTQ community.

Well I know what you mean and I’ve felt the same as well after watching s7, but I’ve come to the realization that I literally don’t trust anything that the EP say. I mean they said as well that having Lance and Allura together would make a disservice to those characters and yet they are together. I love the couple but, you know, you can’t say one thing and then deliver another. The same goes for the whole Adam story, I remember them saying it was a recent decision because Bex (pure loving soul) literally did everything in her power to have other LGBT characters. I think we still don’t have the main rep, and Shiro (+Adam ) were more like a “oh yeah s7, still no rep, so here you are while you wait for the s8 stuff”. I still think they’ll give us good rep, I believe that in s7 didnt have much time for any kind of romantic and/or personal development p, but for now the war is over, we still need to fight the final Enemy but I think half of next season will be centered into resolving this relationships mess they made through the serie. I still love it, I think I will always love it but yeah, I get where you come from and I am thankful for your comment! I am sorry mine is super long ahah I got carried away

Spoilers! Shiro had a terminal muscular illness, and was given a few more years to live, yet he wants to pursue his dream career as a space explorer before his condition worsens. On top of that, he's engaged, and Adam didn't want him to go because of his health. In the end, Shiro chose his dream over Adam, thus calling off their marriage. Shiro's decision parallels one of the show's arc words: "The mission is greater than the individual".

**Spoiler-ish??** Adam said something along the lines of "don't leave me again Shiro" suggesting that Shiro had left him before. Shiro also had a serious life threatening illness and probably had a few more years to live, which Adam probably wanted to spend with him and Keith. But shiro left anyway, choosing the mission over his boyfriend which probably really hurt Adam, leading to the breakup.
