Thank you I was thinking that would be a good idea. Just didn't know if it would effect the integrity of the boat. Nice work!

Not sure what you plan on using the painter for but line that small is not all that strong and it would be both difficult to hold on to and very damaging to the hands if put under strain.

Very good video . I just hate the thought of drilling thru my canoe

No reason to avoid doing so. If it's composite it can easily be reversed. Drilling is often the strongest and lightest method of attaching something.

Loop waaaayy too big
@dougmckown54 жыл бұрын
actually no. the loop should be as large as possible, and still not drag in the water. The larger it is, the easier it is for someone to grab when the canoe is upside down.

@@dougmckown5 Many people in the whitewater community would disagree. Their opinion is that the loop should not be big enough for your hand to go entirely through to avoid entrapment and being tied to a capsized boat full of water in current.

Don’t see the purpose of this how about a 11/4”brass eye bolted to clevis into deck. no canoe should ever be lined in a rapid without a bridle that is tied to seat or thwart and single line that is directly under the keel.

END LOOPS AND PAINTERS AREN'T FOR LINING, THEY ARE FOR RESCUE AND RECOVERY
@UguysRnuts3 жыл бұрын
I added a glob of thickened epoxy inside the boat above the buoyancy tank and then drilled through it instead of using the plastic tube. Magnitudes stronger than this technique.
