I bought a used 14ft Clipper Packer Solo canoe that I have been renting at the end of the year last season. I didn't like the position of the painter lines when attached to the factory grab handles as it would sometimes create issues when lining or pulling the canoe in shallow or fast moving water.
I installed new end loops and wanted to share what I did as I couldn't find many videos on installing on a canoe with built in float tanks.

For specialist, solo, remote paddlers a few things to consider. 1. Have nothing above your gunwales. 2. Have nothing above your gunwales 3. Small/ short swim line for open water 4. Moving water, let the canoe go and catch it downstream. 5. EASY

Love that beer too! Not too experienced with the ropes on the ends of a canoe but is it for guiding the canoe down rapids? Does it matter if the ropes are at the front or would it work to tie around the handle bar in the canoe by the flotation chamber? Great videos btw

l will line the canoe up and down rapids or fast current. It handles fine attached to the grab handle on the canoe but would track right or left in faster current. I figured it would be best to pull from the very end for better stability should I have to pull the canoe in fast current, around boulders or through a marshy area. The best position is as close to the waterline as possible to avoid capsizing the canoe when lining up or down rapids, but I didn’t want to drill into the tanks. Thanks for watching my videos and for the feedback, much appreciated!

How do you find the 44 lbs of the fg for the portage? Looking at selling my fishing kayak that is 88 lbs for a packer canoe in the 40 lbs range.

Not sure how I missed this! It’s a good weight, with a good yoke and padding can portage all day long!
