Hey all! I realized that with the new unity 2018 solution, there are some issues with it. Another solution to drag the emote onto the AVATAR in your Unity Hierarchy! Hopefully that helps a bit!

So I have a bug where when I add the animation to it the Finger animator show up in Yellow text "missing". This is because I did not have my model set up as a humanoid rig before I added it I forgot I was starting fresh and needed to do that. This is like the third time watching this video because I forgot that so I am writing this as a reminder to my future self for when it happens again lol Hope this Helps you guys in your future avatars as well.

I've been trying for a while now, I've downloaded an existing avatar but I didn't like it's animations. I wanted to add some myself, everything goes well up to 4:48. When I drag the animation onto the avatar nothing happens. When selecting the different keyframes the avatar remains in T-pose. Nothing ever changes. I've already noticed this avatar has been set up... a little messy, but I have no clue where I'm going wrong now. If I just map the already existing animations they will work in game, but there's no way they do anything in the SDK as the avatar is always in T-pose and animations do not play.

At best, this avatar seems to do the idle pose when any animation is applied. I just tried another avatar and that avatar's animations seem to play properly in the SDK. What I find so strange is that all the animations of this avatar do work properly once in game, but not in the editor.

Make sure you don;t have the model highlighted/selected before dragging the animation onto the model. Also, make sure that the model has all its meshes combined

Hello, thank you for this tutorial, it was a big help. However I seem to have a problem where I submit the avatar with the facial expression and it works (it was a smirky smile) and when I talk while doing it, the bottom teeth clip through the chin and sticks out of the face. I can't even import the animations you put up for download, the animation tab is completely empty and the default overwrite you showed isn't even where it's supposed to be. when i put some pre-made animations from other avatars in, it should show the animation tab full like yours after you put them in the avatar folder but it's just empty for me. so what the hell, i did everything step by step and still nothing works. what is this shit? why does awesome stuff like this always have to be so darn ass difficult. do we mortals actually have to pay for crap like this or can't we just learn it ourselves? i guess even if i wanted normal face expression for an avatar i found i have to pay so it works.

The only problem is that whenever my avatar blinks, it messes up my wink animation to the point where my eyes disappear. Is there a way to disable the automatic blinking while doing that custom animation, if possible within Unity.

I'm not too sure. I don't believe so, because the blinking is supposed to be an animation that's get baked in during the AV creation process in blender using CATS tools. Its not a perfect system, but it makes characters more lifelike. There might be a way to do what you were asking about, but I don't know how to do that.

Hey dude. i have mine fully working, except when I add a second expression animation and then set it to another hand action. It does Expression 1 on ALL KEYS and resets it on SHIFT F1, and Expression 1 overrides Expression 2 key HELP please.

You may have to make sure that they are named properly, because it feels like maybe its a naming overwrite. Either that, or maybe the animations have to be redone again because of a unity issue. Check to see you're not accidentally setting both to be one or the other.

Got your avatar T-pose wrecked? Think there's no way to fix it? Wrong! Click the fbx file in your project, go to rig, configure, pose dropdown, there's a button to "enforce t-pose", click done. If it asks you to save the fbx, don't, you don't need to save anything

You can swap out textures by applying the right texture to the material. I highly recommend Unity tutorials on swapping out textures

Try re-applying it onto the avatar. Make sure its being applied to the whole avatar and not part of a mesh. Sometimes, it can do that if you have a bodypart selected

If the anim window is not there, you can open it by mousing-over the top menu of Unity and in Windows tab, you can select the Animation tab to be displayed
