Add fonts to Aeon nox including strings edit

This is a walk through on how to add fonts to fonts folder, edit font.xml and edit strings.po This way you add a new font and you can choose it in settings/appearance. I add a complete fontset.

Excellent walk through - because my language is set to English GB I also had to edit the strings.po in skin.aeon.noq\language esource.language.en_gb to get it to work, so anyone trying this and it doesn't work check the resources folders for your language.

How do you edit the font color for info not menu items. I know how to do everything that you highlighted but I want to change the color of them.

Hi... I followed your tutorial... did everything except changed the font id to 55551 & 55552 (I added 2). Everything seems to have worked except that on my font list, there is no name (blanks). I can select them though. What can I do to make the name appear?

not looked into that. I know Jarvis ver saves info in user data/skin/settings xml. I created custom themes on the noq ver of aeon so it's a different skin in many ways

I finally found a font that I like, but the font size in the submenus is too small for me to read from my couch. Do you know what line in the XML (or wherever it may be) that the submenus are on? How do I change the font size in sub menu? I see "main menu" a bunch of times but never submenu.

You will need to look in kodi/skin.aeon../16x9/fonts.xml I dont remember which fontnumber is for submenus. Its been a long time since i edited skin. But font size is there too. Just test one at a time by changing number real high to find which is submenu. example font12 RobotoCondensed-Regular.ttf 26

Oh I forgot to mention I'm using Xenofluence. So you mean start from the top and change the font size (in the above​ case to 52) then back out and ck menu, and move on to the next? There are dozens of font lines. Is there a way to narrow the search? Also, mush the Kodi be shut down and opened each and every time I change a font size?

yes its trial n error .. yes kodi has to refresh for that skin... don think it allowed refresh without closing kodi

i did this on pc, for android box users, i did this loads of times from pc to android box visa versa, go into ares wizard, go in to more menu, change paths into special then back up onto external storage and downloads, format usb by pc to ntfs, android box should read ntfs, mine does and copy zip to usb. restore to pc, then edit how this wonderful chap has, then go into ares after all has does, and follow the prcedure, starting from changing path to special again, works for me that way if you dont change the paths to special it will not work correctly, it can be done on the box, have to find the hidden files on it, too much of a fluff around link for fons downloads on www.ares-project-blog.com/kodi-technical/skinning-aeon-nox-changing-fonts-on-your-menus/

once you create what you want ZIP up build with a wizard or just Zip Addons/Userdata folders.. then install on android box with a wizard

Hello DaButcher, I recently changed my font, in this screenshot it shows ? prntscr.com/j6z7mx what part of that font line is in the XML file for the one in question, so I can change it back to Arial font so it looks normal. I hope I asked this correctly. Thanks!

No audio. well that's strange, I get audio in FF, I have no other issue with audio with other video's using chrome.

BIG BIG 10 thumbs up, for helping me to add different fonts to KODI Aeon Nox 5. Now can you do something about font colors?? I have mine changed to Kryptonite but some fonts are by default color, here is a screenshot of what I mean prntscr.com/fefpy0 you see how the highlighted is my theme color but "look and feel" is still a blue color it shouldn't be, now how do I go about changing that to the theme color (even the fonts are theme but nothing changed there).
