Im new to materials and this has been very helpful! Most tutorials seems aimed at intermediate users - so this bare bones break down was very much needed on KZbin.

I'm glad you liked it :) stay tuned because after discussing these nodes, I'm gonna get to creating more complex materials in the next few months

so, basically, "append" is like sticking 2 different numbers into a box before sending the data. however, is it possible that you can use append on 2 3 vector nodes one with r 0.5 and g 0.0 and the other being 0.0/0.5 the same way you'd use them with "add", or would that cause an error? also, between the two, would using append in such a way make your processor figure out 4 different data sets, while "add" would just be one data set? the loose definition of both append and add is to fuse two results together, so it has me curious.

it made me laugh when you said infinity isn't allowed

@@offyourocker so if you append 2 vector 2s (as your example), the rezult will be a vector 4. The output will be (0.5, 0.0, 0.0, 0.5). But when adding them, the result will be a vector 2 (0.5, 0.5). Each channel will be added together.
