It is planned and will be a good one. It will cover different ways to replace a sky depending of the type of footage. From the simplest to the most challenging.

Amazing video! Would love to see a video going over the differences (and use cases) between all of Fusion's different trackers. The sky replacement tutorial would be very useful as well! :)

Great suggestion! We've been thinking about making such a video for a while so this is definitely in our books. Our advanced sky replacement tutorial would definitely cover some fancy tracking.

I must say that this was an excellent presentation although it was slightly hard to understand. I am looking at adding the Mocha plugin at some point. Tracking in Fusion appears to be straight forward and definitely makes After Effects look complicated.
@CoreAndBlue2 жыл бұрын
Catching up with replying to comments. What made it hard to understand? That superb French accent or the process itself? Mocha Pro still has more features and can do things that Fusion cannot but with the release of the Surface Tracker, the gap is closing up.We'll have a dedicated tuorial coming soon.

Another great video. Question: Couldn't you have gotten a better track by including the white gutter in your initial planar tracker section since it doesn't matter what is tracked in that versus where you place the pin? Was there a reason you didn't?
@CoreAndBlue3 жыл бұрын
This is a very good question. The gutter isn’t on the same plane as the shed and this would create some parallax, impacting the accuracy of the tracking. With a Point tracker, I would have aimed for the gutter indeed as you would need as much contrast as possible. But for the planar tracker, all you need is a texture on one single plane.

Yes, we need to stress test it to see how it’s holding up compared to Mocha Pro. We’ll make a video about it.

I followed your steps but my text seems to be behind the video-I only see it when I make it larger-help!
@CoreAndBlue2 жыл бұрын
That sounds like you have the wrong merge mode selected inside the planar tracker. Make sure that your video is connected to the background (yellow) input and the text to the foreground one (green). Then in the Planar tracker controls page, choose FG over BG for the Merge mode.

Planar tracker refuses to work for me anymore. No matter what I try, it will only track about 12 frames before stopping. Anyone have any suggestions? Blackmagic message boards are totally useless (as usual)... just a bunch of people saying "it works fine for me.".
@CoreAndBlue2 жыл бұрын
Difficult to have a precise idea without seeing the footage and what you are trying to track but here’s few questions: Is it only happening for 1 particular clip? If yes, does it have fast motion? The track usually fails whenever the planar tracker completely loose the texture it is set to track. Did you try starting the track from a different frame?
@_LifeOfReilly2 жыл бұрын
@@CoreAndBlue I've tried it on several clips and from different frames within those clips, with identical results. I suppose some of them might be considered to be fast motion. The most recent attempt was to pin text to a boat bobbing in the water, during a panning shot. I'll experiment with slower motion clips and see if that makes a difference. Many thanks for the speedy reply!
