In case you didn't realize, Cherri was bombing places that hurt Angel Dust (drug facility, brothels, bars). That's how good of a friend she is towards Angel. If she had the power, she'd probably take on the overlord that owns Angel (Valentino, the one you see who sexually abuses Angel in the music vid).
@crimsonknight70112 жыл бұрын
If I remember correctly it’s places that Valentino is the owner of. Like one was a screen with Valentino on it

She's actively working to become an Overlord for exactly that purpose. She wants to prove herself an Overlord by taking Valentino down.
@JediMasterRevenantMADNESS2 жыл бұрын
^ That's not exactly confirmed, but implied. Whether or not it's strictly for Angel Dust is doubtful. I'm willing to bet she has her own reasons too. We know she's a good friend, but she's still in Hell for a reason. Btw, worth noting also though, at the end of the video when Cherri and Angel walk out of the club, there's a blink and you'll miss it moment where one of the posters says it was all a dream or something to that effect. Could be a hint to us, the viewers, or it could just be there as a way to tell patrons that their problems and worries are all just dreams. Most believe it's the former.

Its hard to see, but near the end when Angel and Cherri are running out of the nightclub, there is a sign on the wall that says "It was all a Dream". Theorized that this is all in Angels head. Good of a friend that Cherri is to Angel, she is not powerful enough to take an overlord like Valentino down

I'm really happy that you got to see this MV, it doesn't just give us a great in depth look at Angel and Cherri... but it's also extremely catchy! Note 1: the little hellpig is called Fatnuggets and it's Angel's pet, but it's also, as I already said, an hellpig, meaning that, as an adult, he'll turn into that big hog that Moxxie tries to take down in Helluva Boss, in the episode "The Harvestmoon Festival" Note 2: Helluva Boss season 2 episode 1 is scheduled to come out this weekend, are you ready?

The line in the post credits verse is the one that sticks with me the hardest "There's another rush of poison flowing into my veins, giving me a dose of pleasure that resides by the pain." The ups and downs, knowing the pain and the sorry and the horror and trying to mask it with chemical happiness. It's a bleak, dark video and song and such a sad situation for Angel.

I think this song speaks of addiction i various ways too, not just drugs. Like the way I saw it Angeldust got addicted to the attention he got in that club so he suffered the abuse because he didn't wanna lose it. In the end he was saved by his friend and eventually ends up with Charlie at the Happy (Hazbin) Hotel, where he gets a chance to recover and get free from his addictions. But, he's a proud character and doesn't wanna let people see that he needs this, possibly so they don't use it to control him again, so he acts out and pretends he hates it.
@DefinitelyNotDefinitive22 жыл бұрын
Addiction can indeed be about many things outside of drugs. Good point 🙂
@RandomGirl1192 жыл бұрын
I dunno if it's still up, but they actually made an official comic that shows exactly how Angel Dust ended up at the hotel. If you want the spoiler summary: He was having to give a lot of the money he earned to Valentino but had his own bills to pay at his apartment, so he agreed to stay at Charlie's hotel because it's free. Unfortunately, if you look closely in the pilot, you can read Valentino's text messages with Angel at the beginning, which show that Angel is still working for him.
@pie1o1morris462 жыл бұрын
I don't think he's saved just yet. He's still working for Valentino even while he's staying at the hotel. In the beginning of the pilot you see Val texting Angel Edit: sorry my bad, just realized the comment above said it already

You guys should definitely go back and watch the video carefully. There's a couple hidden details you can miss like when Angel's dancing on stage and it flashes to Cherri comforting him, and again there's something with Angel looking in the mirror after the credits. There're other things but I'll let you guys find 'em yourself. Also, I love the line at the end, "I know I'm raising Cain by every highway in hell." As it has a double meaning sorta. Cain is a biblical character from Christian Mythology, but the phrase "raising Cain" means to "raise hell" or "raise the devil". Joined with him doing this "by every highway in hell" is a little ironic.

Addiction can pretty much just be your own person hell and mostly its usually not the addiction itself that is the problem, like you both said it often stems from trying to cope with something. Now I can't speak for every person that has had some type of addiction but when I saw this music video back when it came out it did hit me like a brick. When I saw this I had been abusing alcohol to deal with depression and anxiety, now I was probably lucky in the fact that I was classified as what I believe is termed a "functioning alcoholic" meaning that it didn't stop me from doing most of the things that ppl usually do, now I was also unemployed and living with my parents at the time so who knows how much worse it could have been if I'd had my own apartment at the time. Another thing that is also shown in the video that hit me personally very hard is the fact that through out the music video Angel Dust has this kinda attitude of "don't let anyone see you hurting" and I feel like its probably very common for people who have addiction issues due to coping with mental health disorders, I personally didn't display any kind of confidence while hiding my feeling but I would just smile and look "normal" and when I got back to my room and was alone in the middle of the night I would just break down from the exhaustion of having to pretend that I was okay and nothing was ever wrong. And honestly I feel for the people that have substance issues with any type of drugs or alcohol, the only reason I never got into drugs myself was because my birth mom abused drugs and my adoptive mom was very thorough on that since my birth mom was her niece (brothers daughter). And lastly I think the most scary thing that I personally experienced is that addiction can just kinda sneak up on you weirdly enough, I didn't realize that my issues were actual addiction until I actually thought about it and started to come to the conclusion that what I was personally doing wasn't the norm and that when I spent most nights drinking just so that I wouldn't feel like crap that it was abuse and addiction. I was also probably more lucky than some due to the fact that I personally decided to attend a rehab center. It worked out decently in the end and I now stick to the rule that I don't drink hard liquor when I'm by myself, I can have a beer or cider but that's it.

Thanks so much for sharing your experience with addiction. Glad you were able to recognize it and take care of yourself 🙂

This was a bit of supplemental content to hold fans over until they release the first episode of “Hazbin Hotel”. A catchy song that has had a lot of cover versions of this song. My personal favorite is the cover done by Amalee and Nate Wants To Battle. If you haven’t listened to it I’d recommend you do. I’m not sure how much of the pilot episode will carry over into the main series, but hopefully they won’t change it too much. Unfortunately a lot of the voices for the characters got changed (speaking & singing) since the series got picked up by A24 pictures studios. Additionally, the designs for the characters also changed, but that’s more to match the character designs used in the Helluva Boss series. Enjoyed your reaction to this music video. If you're going to make music reactions now as well I certainly have some rather interesting suggestions. Scrooge McDuck comic book sound track: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gIjahImFpJp-lc0 The album is made by Finnish songwriter and keyboardist Tuomas Holopainen. The Life and Times of Scrooge graphic novels by Don Rosa was and continues to be extremely important to not just Tuomas, but to many Finns and other Europeans. It is slightly criminal how he's not getting the recognition he deserves back at home in the US as his work can easily be equated with anything Marvel, or DC has put out. The whole album is a thing of beauty as a whole as well, including the vinyl version: www.emp.fi/dw/image/v2/BBQV_PRD/on/demandware.static/-/Sites-master-emp/default/dwb9287e0c/images/5/3/2/0/532032.jpg?sfrm=png The album cover has quite interesting background as well. Don Rosa doesn't have the permission from Disney to draw Scrooge, which is why Tuomas had to use Don's original sketches (Which he provided himself) for the music video and why the album cover depicts Scrooge from the back. You can also see Scrooge losing a few gold nuggets, which really concentrates Scrooge's personality well into one image. Yes, he has tremendous gold lust, but in the end, deep down he does value the adventure, the experience and nature even more although he'd never admit it to others. Poets of the Fall: PotF - War (Alexander Theatre Sessions Episode 2) - kzbin.info/www/bejne/rn3IdIyMaNp9htk In my opinion, their lead vocalist Marko Saaresto is one of the world's best technical singers and this specific song shows it. Acoustic and unplugged, his singing sounds just as pure, clear and technical as the studio recording. His singing literally requires no mixing, or tuning. Poets of the Fall do quite a bit of game OST's, this one specifically was used in the game Alan Wake. Old Gods of Asgard - Take Control - kzbin.info/www/bejne/oWG0pHuBfZxqg6s Old Gods of Asgard is Poets of the Fall's alter ego band in the game Control and they made this fictional band for the game together with the song. Nightwish: Nightwish - Nemo - kzbin.info/www/bejne/oXqllaN8f955ocU Nightwish - Ghost Love Score (Wacken 2013) - kzbin.info/www/bejne/amjIkGxsZrSEjac To loop things back around to Tuomas Holopainen I present his main project and the band Nightwish. They make symphonic metal and are among one of the originals in the music genre. The first song suggestion is with their first lead vocalist Tarja Turunen, who has a classical opera schooling and you can really hear it. She is a phenomenal singer. The second one is with their third lead vocalist Floor Jansen who grew up as a fan of Tarja and so although she doesn't have the same classical opera schooling, she can somewhat pull off something similar herself and is also a highly talented singer. I have so many more interesting suggestions, but this is already quite long.
