Angry Karen Hater decides to try to yell and argue with Jordan on the river for no reason! 99.9% of the time it's all love on the river. Most of the time, we're running into all of our fans and supporters out there on the water, and we love that! We love interacting, seeing, teaching, and talking to fellow anglers out on the water. But... Every once in a blue moon, we run into someone who wants to get into a pissing match for no reason. Grumpy, selfish, anglers like this ruin our sport, they ruin our angling community, they prevent new uneducated anglers from wanting to enter the sport. Our motto is to educate, entertain, and inspire anglers of all skill levels. We have spent over 10 years helping teach anglers and get new anglers as well as seasoned vets excited about fishing.
We aim to pass this torch to a new generation of young anglers coming up. Not only that, but we aim to share with the current generation how to be successful on the water and respect the resource. Furthermore, we aim to create new and exciting fishing products to help evolve the sport forward. Are we building a business, absolutely we are, but with that comes all the other things were doing to give back to the angling community that supports us! I hear the term sell out a lot in different industries, and I've never really understood it. That's what this guy was claiming about us. I guess people think if you take something you love and turn that passion into a business, you're a sellout? OK? I personally don't believe that, because if I did, I wouldn't be able to support a single business in the fishing industry. Not guides, sporting goods stores, tackle manufacturers, & more. You couldn't support any of them because they are sellouts? That's a dumb way of thinking!
Every single business we buy from as anglers, rods, reels, lines, lures, baits, boats, etc. All these businesses at one point started with an angler who loved fishing and had a dream of doing something in the fishing industry, so they started a business in this great angling community. We create videos to entertain anglers, teach anglers, and inspire anglers to do the same thing! We want people to enjoy and love the sport of fishing like we do, love the outdoors like we do! Evolve the sport forward, fight for our sport, give back to our sport! Don't let any hater stop you from chasing your dreams! Don't let a small group of people's opinions stop you from chasing your dreams. We love every single one of you that support Addicted Fishing, thanks so much! See you on the river.

On the Salmon river in Idaho locals sometimes fish thru seasons and never catch a steelhead. While working there one year in the 80's I decided to buy a license and give it a try. I didn't expect to catch anything but just being out on the river was wonderful. It was snowy and cold when I cast my spoon into this deep pool. I retrieved it and cast again....Bam..fish on! It was a beautiful 24 inch keeper. It was my limit so I quite and went back to the local bar to get a beer. The place was packed, mostly with locals, and the conversation of fishing and elk hunting came up. Not being a local I just listened then was asked if I ever fished for sterl head. I replied "Sure I just caught a 24 incher down at the confluence." The place went silent and someone yelled "Bullshit! No ones that lucky." So I went out and brought it in. It was so funny because catching one is rare at best but on my first try. It was an amazing fish to eat. If it had been wild I would have let it go but the clipped adipose fin made it dinner. Lol

When you say "locals" I don't know if you mean to that specific area or the state of Idaho in general. But if it's the latter, please don't judge all Idahoans by that particular interaction. My parents were born in SE Idaho in the 1920s, and moved to SW Idaho over 60 years ago, where I have lived since 1958. Welcome to our great state, and keep on fishing!

Rand Mayfield You know it sounds random, but reading your description of that cast I thought to myself, where I am from, we would never really even think if throwing a lure in snowy weather. Most people here in Virginia except the most dedicated never fish the winter season, but that inspired me. I actually did fish in the middle of a snow storm once, and caught bass after bass on live minnows.

I’ve watched a lot of what this channel has published. Jordan and the other crew members have consistently demonstrated respect for wildlife and there habitat, practiced sustainable harvest, adhered to fishing regulations, and respected others anglers. Is this not who we want representing our sport? When people that don’t fish or are new to fishing ask me about places they can go digitally to learn more about sport fishing Addicted is one of the places I send them, for the reasons listed above. The more people that become aware of and participate in sustainably catching our spectacular fish species in the northwest the more people will be committed to preserving these fish. Some of my fondest memories are of taking people I’ve known over the years salmon fishing, who never fished, said they didn’t like it, didn’t understand what the big deal is.? Weren’t aware or concerned about our salmons health and numbers. In every single case that all changed in an instant! The instant I got them hooked into one! Salmon are uniquely able to put a smile on everyone’s face, to inspire awe, respect and wonder at there power and will. Everyone one after experiencing salmon up close and personal wants to do it again and maybe more importantly wants there to continue to be salmon and there habitats so they can thrive. Jordan and the other crew members of Addicted are doing much to save salmon by showing and encouraging new people to come into contact with salmon thru fishing. Carry on!

Your video popped up and the title shocked me. I've loved to fish from a young girl growing up in Detroit projects. My dad would take us out of the city as often as he could to fish ,swim and find snakes. Fishing was my fav. I had 10 older siblings. Our mother died when I was 2. My dad wanted to keep us out of trouble. To see people harassing you is crazy. You handle it perfectly. I don't get out to fish anymore so guys like you bring back some visual enjoyment. Thank you for your videos.

Try this next time you hook into a huge fish like that: When you feel that is is going to spool you, just drop your rod and release your tension. I would do this on the Nisqually, Cowlitz, and Lewis Rivers and find that the fish would stop and make its way back upstream as I slowly reeled in the slack, then I would reef on it again to repeat. Sometimes it would come up right past me and I could get a net behind it and when I reefed on it again, it would turn into the next.

Wow, that escalated quickly! And I still don't understand how it went from "when does the next video come out?" - into "you're a sell out." Jordy handled it way better then I would have. Jordy - "we're out here teaching people how to have fun." Where I would have responded, "how bout we discuss this face to face in the parking lot you weird F'er." Well played on your part, Jordan.

I came across your channel looking for how to fish for trout after about 20 years of not having fished at all. Thanks largely to you, 3 weeks later after watching your channel and a little bit of weekend angling I feel like I'm back on track!

Totally agree with you, Jordan. That guy has no idea who you are, that you are actually making awesome instructional videos, and teaching folks how to improve their fishing by sharing your knowledge and experience. Personally, I have learned a lot from Addicted Fishing. Who the hell is that guy and what makes his opinion better than anyone else’s? I can’t stand the proliferation of attitudes like that. Keep on fishing, and as long as you keep sharing your knowledge in videos, we’ll be watching and learning! Thanks.
