I love this channel so much. As a fellow pacific northwesterner and novice fisherman I couldn't appreciate you guys more. Keep telling us what rods, line and setups you're using because I find it greatly useful as I develop my fishing knowledge. Keep it up!

Other than being a little less visible than mono, whats the big deal with flouro? Its way more brittle and once you hook a fish or snag up and put heavy pressure on your leader, flouro has been proven to lose its strength. I've always used maxima ultragreen and have ran old leaders and had them perform just as good as when I first tied them on.

No reason to use floro in a river on fresh fish. It has its place though

Hey guys, just purchased the Addicted 50lb braid for a few reels. I’m pretty comfortable with rigging braid and fluoro leaders for float and drift fishing, but, do you use the high vis braid for spinners? Or should I keep a reel lined with mono/fluoro for spinners? If you do use braid with spinners do you use a fluoro leader? Thanks!

Getting ready to try steel head fishing for the first time. Have a room reserved in Lewiston for three days this week and going to try on the Grand Ronde from the Snake to Oregon border. I've been watching your videos for weeks trying to learn the basics, and I think I'm ready as can be, for a beginner. Going to try plunking and bobber drifting. Thanks for all the very informative and entertaining lessons.

Learn to fish a center pin reel and float some bobbers. It feels unreal to hook a fish on a center pin and you have much more control of the line. Some guys go years without hooking their first steel head. Stay positive.
@kevindurland77052 жыл бұрын
@@Islandstonr Thanks. I'd never even heard of a center pin reel until a couple of hours ago when I watched some guys fish with one. It looks like a lot of fun.

I see Colt was using the Okuma ITX Carbon reel. Was that a 3000 or a 4000? I have an ITX 1000 on my ultra light trout rod and I love it. I was thinking of picking up another for my float rod but wasn't sure if I should go with the 3000 or the 4000. What do you guys think?

How long have you been tying the standard clinch over the "improved" version? I've always been told the improved clinch was better but watching you and Jordan land steelhead with that knot makes me think otherwise. I know some fly fishermen on KZbin who swear by the standard clinch, but others claim it slips...

Ive used it my whole life, I never have my knot fail.

Beautiful fish and scenery. I hate going fishing and where I see an entire spool of line just sitting on the bank or 20 lb big game all in the water... it'd crazy... wish people would just bring back more than they brought in and our waters would be less polluted.. those meat grilling shots though were the highlight lol. Any meat cooked longer than 3 minutes each side is a waste and that's pushing it. I may unsub because of the sacrilegious treatment of that meat.... if it ain't bleeding, we ain't eating.
