I'm a big fan of your channel. Your videos were a big inspiration to me to start paragliding, big thanks for that! I also recently got my paragliding license and planning to do my first independent paragliding trip. I'd like to capture as much of it as I can. I don't own any action cameras and trying to decide between Insta360 X3 and One RS. Which one would you recommend?

Thanks!! Super happy to hear that 🤩🔥🙌 if you are interested in pure 360 video feature then X3 for sure 🔥

I have one 300cm for test.. haven’t tried it yet with this mount.. Assuming it will be very unstable:)) will try it out

@@AddictionHappiness ok, yes probably unstable...

@@AddictionHappiness I’m thinking of using the 3 metre stick to record a tandem flight. Solo I would suggest maybe when you’re gliding at higher altitude to extended it slowly with your wrist strap attached, and guide it over one of your shoulders to act as a support. If you’re able to do that it would be great to see a video of the final result.

Hi, I need a tip: Insta 360 X2/X3 or Gorpo Max?
@AddictionHappiness Жыл бұрын
Depends on your expectations… in terms of quality and average use both are epic 🔥
@chiara3032 жыл бұрын
Thanks for all of your videos, I have a concern about the waist mount. If someone had a heavy landing on their back, would this increase the risk of trauma? There seem to be some very chunky, strong hinge attachments, is the plate they are attached to robust and padded enough to protect you, especially if you fly with a reversible harness, where there's little to no back protection.
@lukajavornik2 жыл бұрын
Around harness? What about reserve parachute deployment when is installed in harness container? 😬😬
@AddictionHappiness2 жыл бұрын
As I said mount it without affecting harness or any other important attachment points. If you can’t strap it around your reserve risers then put it inside your harness back storage and make it stable with rucksack or something like that :))
@RedChestnuts2 жыл бұрын
One thing is not affecting the harness, another is saying explicitly that the majority of harnesses have the reserve deploying through the side of the harness and this might be impeding it!
@turkeyphant2 жыл бұрын
@@RedChestnuts Yeah I'm not sure this would be compatible with side mounted reserves.

Which insta360 selfie stick is that? There are at least four: 2-in-1, extended, 120cm, 70cm.
@AddictionHappiness2 жыл бұрын
This one is 120 but you can use whichever you want. Longer stick means more range for reframing in this case 🔥 I know it’s tricky with so many options haha but it really depends what you want it for at the end of the day.
@turkeyphant2 жыл бұрын
@@AddictionHappiness thanks. Do you know which one comes with the back bar?
@turkeyphant2 жыл бұрын
Is this really so much better than all the other mounts you tried?
@AddictionHappiness2 жыл бұрын
The biggest question is what you want. Every mount and angle is the best for its own purpose. Like Helmet mount or bite mount is the best for POV, chase cam for epic landscapes, shoe mount for selfie shots... This one is the best for that “follow cam” trick.. like someone is following you. It’s very easy and simple overall... so it’s one of my favourites for sure.
@turkeyphant2 жыл бұрын
@@AddictionHappiness I really want something close to a chase cam but without the complications. Benefit of 360 cam is even a mount out to the side would look as good. I don't care about selfie shots or anything in front even though your leg mount looked good. I'm just wondering whether this would be that much better than a cam mounted to the risers pointing back or to the side. It's expensive!
@AddictionHappiness2 жыл бұрын
Well with 360 cameras you have infinite angle options. But you have to count in some extra time for editing it down.. reframing and all that before you can use it. If you want something similar to chase cam then this it the way to go. With 360 cameras you get that invisible selfie stick effect.. like your camera is floating. So if that’s what you like then you should go for it. What I like the most about 360 cameras is that I have option to pick my angle later at home. Sometimes is hard to adjust cool angle when flying in action so that ability to do it later is big plus! On the other side I don’t like big files and extra editing and exporting time. But at the end of the day epic angle is just worth that extra time :) Hope this helps you out a little bit. 🔥 You can also join our “Production Crew” on patreon if you wanna dive in deep into video making 👌🚀🙌 Thanks for being around here Jon! Feel free to drop comments at anytime m.

@@AddictionHappiness I definitely want a 360 camera. But I have a quite bulky harness (Advance Success 3). I'm a bit worried about it getting in the way. Do you think it's worth it compared to just taping an invisible selfie stick to your risers like in your other video? Thanks!

On pod harnesses you can mount it on footplate 👌 I show it in paragliding camera mounts part 1 or 2🔥 It’s cool mounting positing 🦅

5:05 Sorry to contradict your point. I promise you guys, you have a high chance of destroying your camera without a frame-device. Paragliding is a rough environment (!!!!!), I stepped on my one X, it broke off on the screw part, same with my flying buddy after just a few flights. It happens A LOT to people. My camera is still working but I have to use the mentioned frame now in order to place it on the stick. If I had the frame before, my camera would still be undamaged. It just devastates a flying day when you destroy your expensive gear. Be not as stupid as me if you value your camera. We didn't have the strap-on though, but still. By the way, when using an open harness, I encourage you guys to start with the stick in your hand, and then place it between a leg and the harness. Maybe even without securing it with a line and preferably on the other side of the rescue. You can see the angle of view in my soaring progression video, I pretty much like it.
@AddictionHappiness2 жыл бұрын
Absolutely no need to say sorry buddy, always happy to see your input :)) I’ve also destroyed or lost many cameras and yeah it happens. You can always use protection cases or lens caps of course.. funny story - I had my camera in case with protective lens covers and guess what - I didn’t damage it but I lost it haha. So yeah dealing with cameras and all that extra gear takes some extra attention and focus. 🙏🙏🙏

@@AddictionHappiness I might have already told the legend about my 1 hour long posession of an One X2. On the way to the hill I picked it up from a Camera guy who used it twice and didn't like it. 400 Euros. Was irritated by strong wind takeoff and took a bit longer to take a seat in my harness than usual. When I pushed my Bar, I realized a strange resistance. When looking for my cam, it was no longer there although it was secured. Seven People tried to help me find it. I even went there searching for the next two days. Managing this device demands a lot from unexpierenced camera flinging towel pilots. ;) And to be honest, it always somehow makes you less safe. BUUUT isn't it making you safer when you can relive some of the fun in paragliding by watching a video of yourself without having to fly yourself? To me that is super safe ;) Those youtube videos are forever. Memories are not.

For liability purposes, you should make videos pretending everyone is an idiot. Pretend that a brand new paragliding student will see your video and want to do this. Realize that they won't even imagine how this will effect their reserve deployment because you didn't bother to spell it out. Now remake your video, and save a life.
@shaelene726 ай бұрын
Thanks for mentioning that, I'm a new P2 and was going to try this and didn't think about the impediment of the reserve.
