What I really like about this series is how some of the tertiary characters' lives have progressed. Jimmy Woo has learned magic and leading investigations, and Darcy went from a political science major interning with Jane and Eric to getting a PhD in astrophysics. I also like how Wanda tried to run end credits in Episode 5 because she didn't want to have a rough conversation, but Vision pushed past it.

Using the end credits scene in ep5 was a genius decision from creator and director, great little addition. God I miss WV, was so damn fun to watch every week and then discuss and make theories etc, the online discussion was poppin off. The show was such a breathe of fresh air for the genre and the MCU in general. Also it came at the perfect time early in the pandemic when almost everybody could use an escape from reality and have something good to look forward too. I’ve been an MCU fan from the very beginning and the 8 weeks when WV aired was probably my favorite time period ever to be an MCU fan. I’ve very much enjoyed multiple of the shows so far but none of them have hit like WV did for me.

That Lagos commercial was dark comedy, but it was subtle. When I first saw that episode, I went "Wow! They went there." The 1990s commercial was messed up (and I was in high school/college during the 1990s, so I knew how messed up those ads were)

Your instincts are very keen, Addie. You're picking up on a lot of the key plot points. The undercurrent of sadness that you feel now isn't just your imagination. You'll know why soon enough. We all wanted this happiness for Wanda, but at the same time, we all knew it couldn't last like this. And yes, the ending will likely wreck you. And I don't think any of us were ready for it. There are some surprises in store, however. Stay tuned.

Covid impacted this production. It was scaled back from 10 to 9 episodes. One would think that when they brought in the two MCU actors (Randall Park and Kat Dennings) who starred in their own sitcoms, they intended for them to be brought more into the hex, but I know Dennings was unavailable for some filming because of covid travel restrictions for instance.

The slow ramp up of the "darkness" of the show was really good. Subtle little hints in episode 1, a little more in 2, some definite moments in 3, then 4 showing those episodes from the outside perspective, and we know something is deeply wrong. Then the cracks just keep getting bigger as the show goes. As funny as the show is, there's some really tragedy under it that makes it really fascinating.

In Marvel comics, Wanda is EXTREMELY powerful, possibly the most powerful earth bound character with the exception of Sentry and arguably Doom, Doctor Strange or Professor X. She has rewritten the entirety of reality at least one time in the comics and can manipulate lesser aspects of reality with relative ease.

I love pretty much all of the Marvel shows and movies - they all have their own vibe, their own message, and if you don't put your expectations first and are open for the ride, it's almost always worth it. But Wandavision is on a tier of its own. This is to me the most meaningful Marvel production.

The really trippy thing about episodes 1 and 2 is that Wanda physically turned everyone and everything black and white. It’s not just filmed that way. That’s why Dottie bleeds red. Also, there are two “puns” when Geraldine gets ejected from Westview: • She gets launched through four walls, literally breaking the fourth wall. • In the comics, one of Geraldine’s superhero names is Photon. CRT televisions work by firing photons at the tv screen to light it up. Geraldine was fired at the TV screen boundary of Westview just as a photon would in a CRT.

One nit-pic for me: when Monica is shunted back out and her 70s clothes are determined to be 80% Kevlar, so they suddenly reflect bullets always is a sticking point for me, because we already have 80% Kevlar clothes, Kevlar is a fibrous material. Kevlar stops ballistics because the weave is strong enough to absorb the rotational velocity of ballistic fire, but there would be bruising underneath due to impact.

If you like the attention to detail in the production of this show, I recommend checking out some of the behind the scenes stuff on how it was created. It's really interesting how much thought they put into it. One example... the first few episodes were filmed in front of an actual studio audience to recreate the feel of those 50's/60's sitcoms, rather than a laugh track (which they used on later episodes). There may be other stuff out there, but the "Marvel Assembled: The Making of WandaVision" featurette on Disney+ is a good place to start. Out of curiosity... is there one MCU movie or show that inspired you to start watching the MCU? I've heard a lot of people got into it because their friends talked about how great WandaVision was, for example, so they went back and got all the background by watching the other projects.

I started reading Marvel Comics in the 1970s. My first comic was an issue of Avengers, which I bought thinking it was "The Adventures of" somebody! That got me into superheroes! It was a foregone conclusion I'd watch movies based on my favorite comics, like the X-Men, Iron Man, Spiderman; & the Avengers!

Pietro's appearance here blew a lot of minds because there are TWO different film versions of Pietro/Quicksilver. Aaron Taylor-Johnson played the MCU version of Pietro that we saw get killed by Ultron. But Evan Peters played a completely different Pietro in the X-Men movies. So seeing Evan Peters's Pietro appear here in WandaVision got people incredibly excited that we'd finally see the X-Men crossing over into the MCU. Why have the X-Men been separate from the MCU? Well, Marvel Comics didn't have their own production studio and were facing bankruptcy in the 90's, so they sold the movie rights to the X-Men characters to Twentieth Century Fox. The X-Men deal effectively helped Marvel dig themselves out of debt, eventually allowing them to create Marvel Studios and make their own movies. But as long as Fox had the rights and kept making X-Men movies, Marvel couldn't use the X-Men in their own movies. Pietro and Wanda Maximoff were a rare exception though. In the comics, both characters are mutants under the X-Men umbrella of characters, which meant that Fox owned them. But they permitted Pietro and Wanda to appear in the MCU as long as they were never referred to as "mutants" or called by their superhero names Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch. Though Fox never got around to using Wanda/Scarlet Witch as a featured character, Quicksilver appeared in several X-Men movies, played by Evan Peters. But Disney bought Marvel Studios in 2012 and then bought Twentieth Century Fox in 2019, so now the X-Men movie rights and the MCU are all under the same ownership again, meaning that it was only a matter of time before we started seeing X-Men characters in the MCU.

Also the way Monica reacts to Jimmy bringing up Captain Marvel is super interesting, like something went wrong with them or something bad happened, perhaps some animosity towards her for not helping her mother Maria during the blip. Idk if you noticed but the Lagos commercial was a reference to Civil War, where Cap and the others fought Crossbones in Lagos and he committed suicide with his bomb that Wanda tried to contain but accidentally blew up a building and accidentally killed some people including Wakandans (which broke her for most of the movie). So the bit about causing messes you didn’t mean to make was when she “caused a mess she didn’t mean to make.” Also, Wanda and Vision and Pietro’s costumes are what the characters actually looked like in the old comics. Finally, yes I must emphasize what the everyone in the comments are saying about the mid and end credit scenes in the last few episodes! They are a MUST WATCCH if you want to understand what happens in the episodes cause they play off each other. Finally, while not super important, SWORD is basically the space version of SHIELD in the comics, but obviously they did it different with artistic license. (Sorry this is so long lol, I’m a huge marvel fan and I’m also very precise especially with my Asperger’s 😅)

In fairness, the “aerospace engineer” always felt like it was played as a name-drop? But then wasn’t- maybe it was gonna be Reed or some other comics character & they scrapped it partway. TBH would’ve been a weird place to introduce the character.

The only thing that REALLY bothered me about those theories, since we all had theories we were posting, were the many people that posted their theories as Absolute Facts. that it *IS* going to be Reed Richards, That they *WERE ABSOLUTELY* refering to Mephisto. The ones not posting "I think it may be that....." or "My theory is......." but posted these things as definitely being the case, and worse when they turned out to be wrong, those people complained that this show sucked because they didn't make it the way that they had claimed it would be. "this sucked, it should have been Reed Richards" "this sucked, it would have been better if they had used Mephisto, like you could clearly tell they were leading up to". I myself WONDERED if they might have a Mephisto appearance (though it would need to be an influence as no one is yet at a level to combat him straight out, and due to budget it would more likely be a human form) due to certain things in the comics and Agnes' reference to "the Devil is in the details" ....."That's not the only place he is".

LOL Eighteen months without anything from Marvel made people go crazy with their theories of course with Disney buying Fox anything seemed to be possible at the time no matter how illogical they were. The only thing i took exception to was the certain boner joke which felt like a middle finger to the fans.

Bring a box of tissues and a seat belt. It gets rocky after this. One thing the Wanda haters forget is her timeline before the snap. First her bother died, and she had no time to truly mourn him as she was drawn into Avenger training. Then in Infinity War she had to kill Vision, then see Thanos revive him just to pull the mind stone out of his skull. A few minutes later she was dusted. She returned with everyone else, but as this series shows, for a dusted person there was no sense of time passing. Then less than two weeks later she finds Visons corpse in a Sword facility, then the series happened. She's sunk in grief and can't cope. Introducing the "new" Peter was a real head fake. Thousands of watchers went crazy, certain we were about to see the introduction of the multi-verse. Not yet. All will be explained. Just be ready for a wild ride.

Yeah the guy who's playing Piedro is actually the way more recognisable actor, he just plays Piedro in the Xmen movies not in the MCU. Whenever I think of quicksilver I always think of this actor who's in WandaVision, not the one from the mcu who died. There are two really really awesome clips of quicksilver from the Xmen movies, one called 'sweet dreams are made of these' and the kitchen scene. But if you were to search up quicksilver scenes on youtube anyway it would come up with this actor Evan Peters first and a lot of his scenes!! He's been in about 4 or 5 movies playing quicksilver. A few in the Xmen and even in Deadpool.

Now that, past Ep 4, you know it's all Wanda, go back and re-watch the first 3 episodes with this knowledge and they take on a whole new perspective. For example, when Visions boss was choking originally it looked like she was laughing and saying "Oh, Stop it!" to her husband because he was being silly or dramatic. Now you'll notice she was looking directly at Wanda and begging her to "stop it" because she controls everything and is the one causing him to choke.

Him choking was her first "disruption", and probly lost a bit of control, so his wife was able to break through a bit ,and was telling Wanda to stop doing the entire thing. Plus there's no indication that they're even actually married outside of the "show"

Have you seen the X-men movies? You need to see them in order to understand why her recasting of Pietro is so crazy. Particularly X-men Apocalypse.

So, you’re saying… correct me if I’m wrong here… she needs to watch SEVEN movies, well over fourteen straight hours of watching… to understand that a different actor played the same character in another franchise??? How about we save her 14:59:55 and just say, “Hey, her brother was also in the X-Men films, and was played by this guy.”

@@davidmcleod5133 Well first of all I don't do spoilers for someone who is trying to make a living reacting to movies....as you have just done. So thanks for that. Second she makes money with content...... every minute that that we spend with her content helps her make money. So more content is better for the channel...No? Third, it doesn't make sense to shoot oneself in the foot by starting to react to a franchise with the movies released latest. I have seen reactors try this on other channels and it doesn't work out well. There is a lot of character development involved with all of the characters.The Marvel Universe is all about how everything is connected. Have you seen No Way Home? I'd recommend that a reactor watch all of the Spiderman movies before they get to No Way Home. Fourth, there are some movies coming up with cross overs and it makes sense for her to start the X-men and Spiderman movies...if she hasn't already. I got the impression that she didn't from her reaction to Pietro in Wandavision. Fifth, I really enjoy this channel and would like to see movies from the X-men franchise here. So I guess you caught me being selfish...I guess. Great job!!! Finally, you are correct she could watch just one movie and make the connection...she doesn't "need" to watch anything. But I did try to be more specific with my mention of a specific movie just in case she did want to get right to it.

Hey, Addie! EPISODE 6: Lots of confusion to sort through here... The '90's sitcom being parodied is "Malcolm in the Middle" complete with fourth-wall breaks! It's the Halloween episode ripped straight from the comics and with everyone decked out in their comic-accurate costumes! The fortune teller and the luchador! BIG QUESTION: What's the deal with Pietro? Wrong memories, no accent, neatly edges Vision out of the plot to isolate Wanda, gives Billy the heebie-jeebies, references hell, makes faces behind Wanda's back and appears as a corpse! He's gleefully mischievous like Fox Pietro but is he Pietro at all? The devil comes with a friendly face. Has MEPHISTO already arrived? Vision goes off script to patrol Westview which suits Pietro but unnerves Wanda. Hayward and Rambeau trade blistering insults until he benches the Scooby crew who go rogue! Props to anyone who caught the "Kick-Ass" shout-out! Taylor-Johnson and Peters were BOTH in it! Impish Pietro runs the neighborhood watch ragged with his speedy antics while Herb checks with Wanda for his next cue. Herb is a proven resident so this means EVERYBODY is aware of who calls the shots. The further Vision wanders from Wanda's sphere of influence, the less animated the townsfolk become! Just beyond her awareness, they're trapped in mini-loops and, at the periphery, they're frozen in place all while being TEARFULLY aware! Meat puppet-ville! Is this conservation of power what she meant by not being in TOTAL control or are her abilities being amplified by another? Was the YoMagic yogurt commercial a subtle nudge to unleash one's power or die? Or is it a metaphor for wallowing in a self-delusional bubble? Or is she sucking the residents dry? Tommy manifests his speedster powers! BIG QUESTION: Why was Agnes leaving town? Her witch costume none-too-subtly indicates to comic readers she is who everyone suspected she was but hasn't she been stage-managing Wanda? With the arrival of Pietro/Mephisto she should be getting her hooks in deep unless she's not in league with the hidden adversary. Did she trigger all this but tried to keep it from getting worse only to flee when "Pietro" arrived? She seemed genuinely alarmed! Or was it all an act to get Vision to confront the truth about himself? What is her agenda? Vision has no recollection of the Avengers! Monica's aerospace contact has devised a way into the Hex but her labs indicate that she is being altered at the molecular level by her transits through the barrier. She vows to not abandon Wanda no matter the cost. SPECTRUM is probably two more transits away and REED RICHARDS probably awaits at the rendezvous! Darcy uncovers a Hayward secret called CATARACT! It must have something to do with Vision because he's dedicating his resources to tracking him and not Wanda! Was Hayward violating Vision's living will and reverse-engineering him? When did dipsy Darcy become an expert hacker? In between working on her astrophysics doctoral thesis? Again, she is the most PREPOSTEROUS thing on this show! Pietro gets Wanda to open up about the Hex and the ethics involved. The children have all been asleep! Vision pushes through the barrier. It clings to him keeping him ambulatory but his contact with the exterior prompts his disintegration! Darcy rushes in to help but gets shackled to a Humvee! Billy manifests his powers and can sense Vision in trouble! The twins alert Wanda. Pietro's off-hand remark that Vision can't die twice earns him a Hex bolt that sends him flying into the haystacks. No one stands between Wanda and her corpse groom! The Witch extends the barrier to shield Vision enveloping Darcy, SWORD, the town limits and a used car dealership filling the lot with vintage Lincolns, transforming the base into a circus and the agents into clowns! Hayward, Woo and Rambeau barely escape. Hold on Wanda's glowing eyes warning the viewer of her frightening potential... Where is the beekeeper? Who is the missing witness? Did they identify Dottie yet? Is "Modern Family" the 21st-century sitcom on tap next? Jimmy Woo runs a team in Marvel Comics called the "Agents of Atlas". They're a quirky lot comprised of a jungle adventurer cursed with the form of a talking gorilla, the Greco-Roman goddess Venus, an Atlantean relative of Namor, an Eternal-reared human from Uranus and an intelligent robot killing machine! They have wacky adventures! If you'd like to learn more about Vision and Scarlet Witch's complex comic history either before the series is finished or after it's over, I strongly encourage you to check out KZbinr James Hancock's primer on his channel "Geekin' with James Hancock". Hancock knows his stuff and the showrunners obviously did their homework!

@@edwardthompson4600 2000-2006 but it borders the decade echoing the sensibility of the period in much the same way "The Dick van Dyke Show" bordered the 1950s and echoed its sensibility. van Dyke was being aped in Episode 1 and Malcolm is clearly being aped in Episode 6. Don't be literal.

@@oxhine but it's NOT a 90s sitcom. It was literally advertised as a "show for the new Millennium" when it debuted. There is nothing 90s about the show format at all.

@@edwardthompson4600 "The Dick van Dyke Show" aired from 1961-1966 but is meant to reflect a typical '50s sitcom in "WandaVision". "Malcolm in the Middle" is similarly meant to reflect a '90s sitcom despite its advertising slogan and production years of 2000-2006. It's close enough in time to satisfy me but, if that doesn't satisfy you, then I suggest you write to the producers and exasperate them about their accuracy.
