Sorry I should have clarified. I already spoke with my in-laws so it's going there. They have not arrived yet :( I have a friend that has a few set up but in an area that already has 5 others and he is absolutely killing it. I've looked at the map a lot and found similar setups as mine will be and I can't quite make out the reward structure. Mine will be about 500m apart. Some I've found get horrible rewards, some get rewards like in this video. I can only imagine it has something to do with the stability of their connection considering when they drop it can take a long time to get back in the network. I'll update this comment with numbers soon as they arrive.

Going from 35,000 to 330,000 miners by the end of summer would take down a 1000 a month miner to 100 a month. This is a ROUGH estimate but the finite amount of HNT that is mineable per month is going to be divided down to all the miners. Am I missing something? The halving would have to 10X the price of HNT to keep profits the same as they are now. Please correct my math if I am wrong. I am seeing more miners to cover the network is a big reduction in profits. Don't forget the consensus groups are going away as well. I put my order for 5 miners on hold for now. I think that around October the profits as we know them now are going to tank because of the flood of new miners. What do you think? Leave a reply!

In Mar 2021 when this was made, there were maybe 15k miners. Today, 31 July, there are over 100k miners. The first "halving" happens tomorrow. So that's 7x the number of eaters, and a pie half-sized. Do you suppose your mined "earnings" will therefore increase or decrease?

Individualized earning are worth more (more demand, less availability) and worth less (you get less pie for the same effort) but in general less pie for the effort but the pie you get is worth more trends to be more valuable but crypto values are always fluctuating and that has the biggest effect as you typically need to either find a store that accepts the crypto or you have to convert it and that is where its actual intrinsic value will be.

I plan to put it into it's own VLAN because yeah that IOT traffic will be going over your internet connection. In theory if someone were able to hack the miners, if it's on your home network someone could get access to whatever is on your home net. So yep firewalls / VLANs etc.

Also don't have any chance of recieving a concensus bonus because they only go to validators now. If you're familiar with bitcoin, then you know what happens with them every 4 years. Can't have two in the same house. Great now I'm stuck and can't get out of this mess. One is stuck in 0.5 death scale and the other I unplugged because it also had a 0.5 and kept causing one to relay. People say I have to move it to another location (different hex) and do the reassert ($10.55 fee) location. So now I have one running with relayed, 0.5 scale and the other one unplugged but still registered to the same hex and can't pivot anywhere through this mess. Some people say use a WiFi extender, some say use a VPN, some others say take it to a friend's or families house, don't trust any of them enough. I'm screwed. And don't understand why people buy more than one.

I have only 16 hotspots near me. Looking at the surrounding area, on average there are about 20. The biggest I see in 57. I live on the 11th floor, I have a private terrace and miles of wide open sky. How much do you think I should expect to make?

conclusion is you suggest if we only hotspot in nearby area, we should buy 2 for better reward? and if we buy 2. why you suggest 1 miner device is located in our neighbors? why not just put 2 device in our home? can you explain why?

They have to be 300m away to get the best reward. If they are in between two miners will share reward.

Hey Man love the videos I have a bunch of questions if you could help me ? 1 - I am looking into investing around into a Nebra Minor I have around 10 or more another miners near me within around 5 miles ? 2 - how much would you think I could expect from this 1 minor 2nd floor 4dbi antenna and suburbs, like I said above around 10 miners around 5 miles from me ? 3 - When people explain they have connected to another hotspot does this mean you have connected to another miner or another miner you own in a different house for example a neighbour more than 300m away? If you could help this would be very much helpful!
