your alternator noise is because you the power and signal wires together you should alway run them on the apposite sides of the vehicle

@@lostchavezno problem. I think you are under powering your mids. Don’t look at the max peak wattage of your speaker look at the RMS rating and pick an amplifier that’s provides that wattage per channel. It might get complicated since you are running kicker and ct sounds speaker through the same amp since they probably play different frequencies. You should def look into running DS18 or PRV speakers and a different amplifier to get a far superior sound system.

That alternator wine is from the EQ or the amp gains are to high need to gain match everything or it can be from running the rca’s with the power or close to the ground connection also

Just letting you know if you haven't figured it out that 4 channel runs very hot so keep it well ventilated with a fan or 2 near by. They sound great though Ive had mine for 2 years now and that's the only issue hot, hot, hot.

@@cptklutch26 I had just figured this out as of a couple days after filming the video. Was driving around testing new settings on the amp & it was so hot to the touch I got scared I already broke it. Luckily I have 2 computer fans laying around & i'm trying to figure a way to hook them up to keep it cool

You're underpowering your mids heavily. I would suggest you to get a an amp that does a little more RMS than your speakers do RMS. NEVER GO BY PEAK POWER.

@@DayV914 I have learned this from a friend now! He kind of chewed me out for it, but looking to do so later when I get a chance. The total of the speakers is 850 so I am going to look at 1k rms at some point!
@DayV914
@DayV914 Ай бұрын
@@lostchavez those speakers you have are 250watts a piece and if you're running 4 of them that's 1,000watts rms in total. Idk where or how you got 850rms (idk how many total speakers you have) you would want to run a 4 channel amp or you can do a 1 channel amp. I personally would say to get a stetsom bravo attack 3k 1ohm amp it's a 1 channel amp run all 4 speakers in parallel at 1ohm on amp side and then use either an OSCILLOSCOPE or SMD DD-1+ for setting the gain. Reason I suggest the 3k amp is so that when you decide to get different speakers in the future you have the extra power you might ever need(buy once cry once type of thing. Also this amp went on sale recently for $160 instead of $210) if you don't want to go with a single channel your next best option is a taramps 2000x4 or stetsom hl2000.4 ( I personally think stetsom is better than taramps from owning both brands but they're both good). All of these suggestions are Brazilian amp brands that work very well and output real RMS power as long as you have the correct electrical. For the tweeters I always suggest to run them on a separate amp not the same amp for voice as you will end up burning the amp with too much power going through them.

@@DayV914 I have two 6.5 kickers 100 rms each, 2 4x6 kickers 50rms each, and the 2 small tweaters 50rms and the 2 ct speakers 250rms each. I will definitely look into it. As stated I am no professional so I'm learning along the way. I appreciate all the advice you have given me!
@DayV914
@DayV914 Ай бұрын
@@lostchavez you're running different speaker brands which is not really recommended to get a good sound. I would go ahead and get rid of your kicker 6.5" and 4x6. Replace these speakers with more CT SOUND NEO'S 6.5". In order for you to uss 6.5" speakers where the 4x6 are you can use an adapter like this one from metra (link below). That would give you 6 speakers in total which means 250wattsx6speakers= 1,500watts (in TOTAL) For this I would recommend you the Stetsom Bravo Attack 3k Amp at 1ohm (link below). Run your 6 speakers in parallel to the amp so that the amp see's them at 1.5ohms. You also have a misconception about gain knob on amp. The percentage or amount of gain you're giving it is not volume. The gain knob is not a volume knob it's a power knbo that gives your amp more RCA voltage from the RCA'S coming from the stereo. This is why you need to use a OSCILLOSCOPE OR SMD DD-1+ because you need to see first what the max volume level you can use on your stereo before clipping (distortion) then when you know what that number is you know not to go higher than that number because you will then be sending distortion to your speakers and this is what kills them. Let me give you an example if car stereo goes to 48 MAX your clipping point can be 37 which means don't put your stereo higher than 36 because 36 is the highest level you can go and still get a clean signal. Then after this you want to check the clipping point on amp so that you can set the gain properly. For setting the amp gain properly you want to run the amp with a test tone and then with the help of an OSCILLOSCOPE or SMD DD-1+ see where it clips and then back off the amp gain very little until you see the clipping (distortion) stop. You can get a decent OSCILLOSCOPE that does the job for very cheap. The SMD DD-1+ is a more professional tool that cost a decent amount of money ($300 for the new version and the older one: SMD DD-1 is $200). The SMD DD-1+ is a great tool but not really necessary as the same can be done with using an OSCILLOSCOPE just that the SMD DD-1+ is much quicker to use to set the gain. ALSO I would replace all your speaker wire with good OFC speaker wire from a company like SKY HIGH OR KNUKONCEPTZ. 16 gauge wire will be more than enough. That Walmart speaker wire you're using is no good because it's CCA and not OFC wire. www.crutchfield.com/S-dEEW8HwRW3X/p_120823300/Metra-82-3300-Speaker-Mounting-Brackets.html?XVINQ=D74&XVVer=2QU&awcr=632421126364&awdv=m&awnw=g&awug=9004190&awkw=dsa-824404595985&awmt=&awat=&gad_source=1 stetsomstore.com/products/stetsom-bravo-attack-3000-watts-rms-mono-full-range-digital-hd-amplifier

I can see that your channel is meant to show the steps you are choosing to customize your vehicle. So as with any other youtube channel that does this I will give you my observations accordingly. 1. You are doing it wrong, all wrong. 2. Your dad already has enough work at his job leave him out of it. 3. If you cant do this your self then do not do it. This is based on the fact that you got the wrong type of speakers for example. if you want your sound to be loud you are going to need at least 8 of those, those speakers do not go in a box. They sound the same in box or while you hold them in your hand. Now if placement is the issue or task, use a pod. Buy premade pods cheaper than the mdf you got to put your dad to help you. the equalizer is that exactly as it is called. Equalizer NOT a volume control. By using it as a volume knob you are increasing the voltage to your amplifier and speakers. Your speakers will not sound good and will more than likely burn out. See there is a hint. If you had many speakers you would not need to use the volume on equalizer. If you don't want many speakers get top of line 6x9's. Learn how to use basic tools like the saw you say you would not mess with. Read basic literature before you attempt anything electrical. The odds of your vehicle catching fire are greater than the odds of you completing the truck as you envision it. Get a book about basic car audio, basic sound acoustics. Do one thing at a time, do not acquire multiple things and wait on others to arrive. This holds your acquisition power to a stand still. Those wheels you purchased, soft metal, they are going to bend, probably are already bent. Your investment on your suspension will go out the window on the first pot hole you hit. Buy new wheels from reputable source. I can guarantee you are going to be stopping for air every week. I guarantee it. Do one thig at a time but show how you are doing it and do it right. That is more interesting unless you have some plot to actually film when your truck does catch on fire, thus why you are doing things wrong in the first place. If that is the case keep it up it will be a good show. Truck is not in best shape, but you keep it clean though!

@@pumapunkudevelopment3376 well I am glad to give you an update :) Now that it's been almost 2 months with this system I have not had a single issue(thank the lord) but after watching many videos and talking to people that are audio experts, I will be redoing the system in my truck either later this year or early next year and taking all the time I need to do a clean and good job. As for my wheels, they are OEM wheels and they have not had any issues even after taking my truck to tail of the dragon🙏🏽 I am thankful that I have a loving father that helps me with what I need and learn along the way. The only issue with my truck is it isn't as quick as my Infiniti was, but that's okay. It's just a daily. Hopefully in the future, the only burning that my truck does is the tires 😮‍💨

What’s the ab stand for on the amp besides d class
@lostchavez
@lostchavez Ай бұрын
It's a term for power & signal rating from what I learned. AB has good power efficiency while class D is even more efficient. I'm not the best at it, but some videos will help explain it better!

@@lostchavez Correct, most people will put door speakers on a Class A or B amp because its not the most efficent, they waste alot of power, I myself have a 1000 watt 4 channel amp that can do 250 x 4 but im wired for 150 x 4 on 150 rms 6.5"s. I plan to go to a 500 watt 4 channel as i wanted to make sure I had enough power and 1,000 is almost too much. I run 800 watts to a single sub on a Class D amp. I plan to bump it up to a 1500 watt amp and see what my current sub can handle. In addition there is a EQ, 3 way active crossover, bass restoration processor, 3 batteries and a 2 farad capacitor for just the monoblock, system been up amd running for 4 years, no issues since first installed.
