Ready to up my temp game, this is just in time and easy to understand. Love your videos because while you go into the tech it isn't hard to follow and understand!

George, thanks for the video. This information will be very helpful when setting things up later this spring. Your "Awesome"! The instructions and information would cause even Bearded & Sill It to bow to your awesomeness! Smiles...

I just discovered this channel yesterday and I can't stop watching. Apart from minor inaccuracies every now and then, the videos are absolutely brilliant. A big thank you, and greetings from Poland. Yes, we watch you here on the other side of the pond too. And yes, we have a tooth for moonshine here in Europe as well 🤣🤣

Hey George do you have a video where you install the temperature probe on to the still? Would love to see that if possible

I run loads of these to give me data points from various points on/in my still. Makes it really easy to visualise what's happening. Mine have 2 k type sensors and readouts in each unit......great things!

Where are we to put temp probes along a setup bottom of pot middle top condenser? Also inside through a sealed hole outside in metal ok as liquid should be slightly lower temp etc... I’m intrigued with all of this

Great timing. Looking for this exact type of temp info system. Great tip on the cell phone wiring. The only concern is the decimal once the display becomes > 100 degrees. It doesn't look like it gives tenths at that point. Oh well. I can better impress everyone on my temp balancing skills. Thanks George. You're awesome man!

Here is what I would like to see! A controller that I can monitor with an app on my phone and computer, that I can adjust the temperatures via the phone or computer so that I can walk away for a bit when needed and still be in control of what ever is being heated!!! What would be the next wish on the list is a controller that is programmable, that I can input what I want to happen at what interval of time and what temp I want it to be adjusted to at those times. I have been searching for PIDs that can do this but have come up empty at this point.

I've been looking for the same. I have 4 probes going to a blue tooth BBQ thermometer. I'd love an app that will bluetooth to the unit and graph and overlay. Also be able to export to excel....

Oh....ps. i use a 5mm nylon gromet inserted in the sides of the column, this means i can remove/replace the probes at will.

Would be great if there where mods for the turbo500 still. Pid would be great but uses outlet water temp instead of head temp. But would be good for my super reflux tower still

George, great video. You touched on using an RTD Probe on the display unit. I already have RTD sensors in my system would I just use two of the wires instead of 3?
@BarleyandHopsBrewing
@BarleyandHopsBrewing 3 жыл бұрын
The RTD sensor is wired with three wires so you need to use all three. Also make sure you set the controller to recognize it.

I like that big box George. Did that come from an online source? I would like to rebuild my PID with something similar. Thanks.

Quick question George. I went to a PID from propane and I notice that even when I balance the column when I try to hit the sweet spot in temperature it seems I still am jumping up and down in temp. Plus I have to get up to around 200° to keep a consistent flow rate. Could you please help.

My PID temp probe is great. I have a dial thermometer in my boiler. Been considering adding a K type probe there, but don't really want to drill the pot. Thanks George ! #HAPPYDISTILLING 🥃
@papadunbar
@papadunbar 3 жыл бұрын
Your boiler already has a hole for the dial thermometer. If it unscrews and is either 1/4” or 1/2” NPT, you can buy a K type sensor to screw directly into the existing threads.

One question that I have, does the probe have a calibration facility? If not how accurate is the one that you are using?
