Exactly, what a lot of people don’t understand is that neodymium magnets get permanent damaged by heat , it’s much better to share the break load of the turbine.. schortend on break in storms even it’s not turning the magnetic force is heating up the coil burns out red hot and demagnetized the magnets .. real informatief video 💪

Hello, can you please help me. I have bought an Instabreeze 2kw 48v and I have a chinese Hybrid Controller 2kw 48v but it seems that it doesn't charge at all. When i connect only two wires it starts spinning and It shows that is charging but when i connect all 3 it slows down (no brake) and only charge up to 50w when outside are strong winds, no matter how strong they are the turbine is not spinning fast enough. The brake works fine and I had winds where it came active. I've tried to disconnect two wires, it starts spinning very fast when i connect the other two it still charging good for another minute then it slows down again for no reason, no break active. Thank you in advance. I have struggling for 1 month and still can't fix the issue.

Hello Alex, thanks a lot for your Videos!! You added the dump loads to the main switch - that means that you only can switch to dump loads by the switch or what i suggest that the controller is also able to switch to the dump loads in that setup? thanks

Hi. It depends a bit on the controller. In the case of the device shown, it only works on the switch. However, you can build a bridge/connection to the relays. Then it works for both

Please how did you connect the wires show us on camera thanks or did you remove the wires coming from the brake and connect the wires from the resisters? thanks

Yes I removed the orginal wires and connect the two dump loads

Excellent explanation thank you, could you maybe give your thoughts and maybe future video on add a voltage booster for the istabreeze charge controller, for use in low wind conditions. I currently have a istabreeze i1000 48v turbine and is charge controller the cut in wind speed is above 3m/s so am missing out on the low voltage charging below 48v. Thanks

Thanks for the nice comment. I haven't tried an "up-converter" on the Ista Controller yet, because I live in an area with a lot of wind. However, I wanted to introduce a cheap MPPT for wind turbines that does low wind boost as well. But please keep in mind that below 5m/s the wind does not have much power and therefore can not produce much

@@freeenergyonshore2828 thanks for your reply. I live in an area where average wind speed is 3.57m/s so the turbine only just cuts in and charges at 48v. An mppt charge controller might be my answer. Have you plans for a future video? One question though would the mppt controller effect the istabreeze braking? Or would you consider by passing the ista controller altogether?

@@celticboy66 I wanted to report the next days about such a charger: amzn.to/3NUXbOg . This could bring an improvement to your location. Please keep in mind that at 3 m/s the I-1000 will not deliver more than about 15 watts effectively. You should install an additional brake switch on this controller

@free energy onshore First of all, thank you very much for your video. I have an ista breeze i2000 with the controller in the video and I'm considering connecting a couple of resistors the same way you recommend. It is not clear to me if the resistors would only act when I manually connected the brake or if they would also work when activated automatically by the regulator. Could you clarify this point for me? Thanks

Hi. It depends on the charge controller. In this specific case into the video, the Dump Load is for the manual brake only. I did it that way, because of the following reason. Every time we have a strong storm, I use this brake. At strong storm the turbine turns a bit even with the brake on (the I2000 even more). I want to make sure, that the power will be not terminated into the turbine. The break at high voltage is done by two relays. Anyway, you can connect the dump load to booth with a kind of "dump load bus". Maybe it's an good idea to create a video about that

@@freeenergyonshore2828 Thank you very much for your answer, that's what I thought. In any case, it seems great to me to put the resistors in the manual brake for what you say and to be able to stop the wind turbine once in motion and derive the energy to a suitable place. It would be great if you put a video about the dump load bus. Thank you!

Unlike solar panels, windmills must push power or will overspin and either physically break or electrical components may overheat. Dump load can be programmed to receive the overflow power or even limit the speed of the turbine for noise reasons, and put that energy in the dump load on purpose. Cleverly programmed, the dump load can be something useful, such as heat large volume of water.

@@freeenergyonshore2828 hi i have done this its working very good and it not stop the generator it just slow it down so when the volt drops down and the relay relese i got amps in my battery at ones instead of the generator have start up again which can take time.

Wouldnt it be better to have 3 Dump Loads for an even distribution on all 3 Lines ?

I Have the same controller but 1500 watts, it does not display battery voltage correctly it displays .5 volts less than across the terminals in the controller. I was concerned it would affect charging, but insta breeze told me to compensate the voltage on the display by -.5 volts for the in and out, mine is unlocked. Do you think that will work?
@freeenergyonshore2828
@freeenergyonshore2828 Жыл бұрын
Hi. Yes I guess it's fine. You have to keep in mind the voltage losses at the cable as well. Sometimes that could be at least 0.5 volts (or even more) on long, bad cables.

I have a crazy Idea, can you make the regulated output of the wind charge controller as an input of a solar charge controller, coz Im planning this as an input for my hybrid solar off-grid inverter charge controller, because in that inverter not much power is wasted because when the inverter sense that the battery is full the generated energy is then be used first by current house consumptions and wind turbine have a lot of wasted energy going into the dump load
@freeenergyonshore2828
@freeenergyonshore2828 11 ай бұрын
It will probably work. However, with losses. I would go straight from a wind charge controller to the battery.

have you tried this with your wind generator?? the wind regulator short-circuits the 3 phases anyway. what you plug into the video only works if you manually turn on the red switch yourself.
