Sir, this is a great presentation and video review for the charge controller, and for the modifications you applied to it. Very intelligent I would say. One question if I may, how did you wire up the blue AMP/ VOLT meter display with the system ? I have an iSTA Breeze i-2000 wind turbine and the exact same controller and the same display meter myself. The blue display is rated at a maximum of 100Amps, and my battery bank is currently formed from 4 x 48 volts LiFePO baterries in parallel, 75Amps each, so around 300Amps. I want to use the AMP/VOLT METER to monitor what my wind turbine produces, and I just want to avoid a short circuit or anything alike. So a few instructions from your side on how should the display be wired up, that would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance, and keep up the good work. You are a valuable resource for our DIY community.

@@flyingtools Hello again Sir, I am afraid that I have a little bit different of a charge controller for my i2000-48v wind turbine, and I don`t know exactly where are those two points right after the 3-phase rectifier inside of it. My charge controller is almost identical with yours, just that the components inside are arranged differently. I connected the VOLT/AMP meter, but I think that the red wire is connected to the (+) of the battery. The voltage that used to be displayed on yours, that is the actual voltage generated by the wind turbine when it is working, correct ? Not the battery voltage, correct ? And I saw that your VOLT/AMP meter lights up when the turbine starts rotating. Mine is permanently on, and it shows the battery voltage. The rest of the value are zero. Of course, the turbine is not rotating right now. Not sure where the rectifier contacts (+) and (-) are to connect directly to those points. A quick advice or maybe a link to a connection diagram would be much appreciated. Thank you very much in advance Sir !!!

I have had nothing but bad luck with mine. The first controller didn't work, they sent me a second one. That worked for a couple of days then the panel started reading 5 volts low and the solar inverter kept cutting out due to the batteries going over voltage. After speaking with them and getting a fairly curt response I took the cd60 control panel off the first one and connected it to the second panel, which seemed to work fine for a while - about a week. Then we had really strong wind and the brake relays gave out, once again causing an over charge and an inverter shut down. I took the first one apart to have a look, there was a burnt out resistor and signs that the board had been reworked some time in the past - the second board has beefier resistors on it so it looks like they upgraded at some point. The relays are cheap Chinese ones, I haven't taken them apart yet but I'm pretty sure the contacts are burnt or melted. The turbine itself seems fine, it produced 900 watts this morning before things started going badly wrong - the red led came on but there was no braking until I manually switched it to brake. Not at all happy.

Hi! I have a question about the Growatt inverters that you have on your wall. Are they the "SPF 5000 ES"? If you combine 3 of them, could you have 3-phase output then? And if so, would that be 240v or 400v?
@flyingtools
@flyingtools 2 жыл бұрын
Yes they are SPF 5000 ES, you can combined three of them (up to nine if you like) and have three phases 400v output or you can choose if you like to go single phase with all three of them in parallel or only use two units as I do. You have to keep in mind that each unit will take around 70 watts in idle power so it will be pretty high powerloss with three inverters if you not need that power they can give you. The efficiency will be very low in those cases. That’s why I decided to go with two units in parallel and only use the second unit when more power is needed.
@altmuligmannen3086
@altmuligmannen3086 2 жыл бұрын
Ok, thanks! I don't really need all the power from 3 units, but I have a tire changing machine and a wheel balancer that run on 240v 3 phase. However it seems to me that you need at least 3 units to get 3-phase output at all...? Would you know if 240v 3-phase also is possible?
