ADDING A SECOND 20 WATT SOLAR PANEL TO OFF GRID SHED

Adding a 2nd 20 Watt solar panel to my off grid shed was pretty simple.
This time I used the TP 20 Watt solar panel kit from Amazon. I actually have to say I like the charge controller a lot better than the one that came with the Suner Power 20 Watt kit (see that video here: • SUNER POWER 20 WATT SO... ).
In fact, you can buy the charge controller separate for about $15 and I am thinking about buying one and swapping out the one that came with the Suner Power Kit. See affiliate link below for that all the additional parts I purchased to install this panel (and a third panel I will be installing to tend our RV trailer battery).

I like the controller with the USB ports. Very handy! *_As Seen On TV!_* 😅 I have a special pet peeve with table saw push sticks. Mine have to be a certain way. Lol. Nice little shop set up, too.

im looking to add a similar solar panel for a pump for my rain barrels to push the water to my garden faster. my concern is that the distance i need is greater than the wire i have seen provided. could i just add a length of wire or do you have another suggestion? Thanks for the help!

I have ran the 16ga wire that comes with the panel over 25ft to the battery with no problems. The wire from the battery to the pump should be a little heavier. It depends on the amp draw from the pump. maybe14ga or 12ga would be better. I hope this helps.

It's tough in a subdivision....you would have to check your local rules/laws etc. But, solar in our opinion is the way to go!

Hello you mentioned that the batteries have to be the same in every way...i haven't heard this before. Its obvious for some things live voltage but why the same age and CCA

That's what's recommended in the directions and I believe it is for safety reasons so you don't have one battery being over charged and possibly causing a fire.
