Adding a hydraulic diverter valve to run a third function attachment, then auction buying and fixing a grapple bucket. Then testing out the bucket by picking up trees and stumps.

Okay I'm subbing to you. I am planning to do the quick attach mod to my old tractor but I hadn't considered a thrid function practical but this makes me consider it more.

Spend another $17 and re-seal the other grapple ram, they aren't working in unison and it's likely the seals in the other ram. Also at the end you mention re-doing the pipework on the diverter and having seen your set up I agree that's a good Idea. It's placing torsional stress on the quick attach and will twist the frame and cause a failure eventually. 😉

I personally had placed the valve at the back with your type of tractor at the backhoo where also constant hydraulic pressure goes to with not used in the driving-position , a good switch in between with PTO - CRANE / Backhoo in between and you have a really full-fledged 3rd function on your loader arm. thanks for the video Dave . That grapple bucket is going to be one of the best tools you have around. One caution though. you should never use things like tape on the threads as a piece can get into system. There is liquid thread sealant made specifically for hydraulic connections. Looking forward to seeing the different uses you come up with for the bucket.

You are correct about the ptfe tape big no no it will dissolve, I. did read on here that the correct ptfe tape for the motor industrry is blue.

I have found that mounting a valve out front like that invites disaster. Usually something rolls off the bucket or forks and takes out the valve. May be worth building a guard for it. Nice install though. 😊

it doesnt look like the grapple cylinders are holding pressure when you grab something, looks like they let go when you switch functions like when you were grabbing those stumps, may need a inline check valve to keep pressure when you switch functions

First thank you for taking the time to make a great video. You'll probably never put your regular bucket back on. I was looking for a root grapple, ended up purchasing a similar one as you. You'll find out you don't lose much material if you're moving gravel or dirt off the sides of the bucket. I wound up putting a tooth bar on and leaving it on the skid steer only to change out for an auger or forks. I have several questions if you or other watchers can throw some advice my way. I have a Ford similar era of that Massey my thinking was to put rear remotes on and plumb to the loader for a grapple bucket. Is there an advantage or disadvantage from a diverter valve? It's my understanding that you can run a cylinder but not a motor like an auger or brush cutter. On that note my thinking was to put a PTO mounted pump and separate tank for that purpose??? Lastly is there advantage or disadvantage from relay to a simple switch? Thanks, great video.

Ist falsch angeschlossen. Der Linke Kippzylinder wird über die T-Stücke vor dem Umschaltventil immer mit angesteuert auch wenn auf Klauen umgestellt wird, da die T-Stücke davor sitzen.

TIM from Canada suggestions when you were trying to fit your new third function junction box to your tractor or your vehicle.. suggestions are to use two sided tape.. this way with two-sided tape you can still move it around to where you want it.. leave it there stand back and see if this is where you wanted to stay or keep moving it around until it works for you.. with two-sided tape this takes the worry out of holding it while you were trying to move it around just a suggestion people that’s all the service..(. Two-sided tape will that work for you or not this is the question)

Yup and the white Teflon tape is for water plumbing. Petroleum products will melt the white. He should be using the yellow Teflon tape which is formulated for petroleum products. Other than that good project.

Teflon tape will make its way to your hydraulic pump and ruin it. Ask me how I know this. A specific thread sealer is used for hydraulic fittings. Get rid of the teflon tape immediately.

@@dougstewart6288 Unless he uses the yellow Teflon tape. The white is for water/plumber applications. As you mentioned petroleum products will melt the white and it can clog pumps. The yellow is formulated for petroleum.
