Converting an old Massey Ferguson Loader to Quick Attach

Converting the loader on my Massey Ferguson 40 to quick attach
I opened a PO Box 242 Spanishburg 25922

Don't drill thru the bushing for grease. Drill halfway threw the center of the pin, then drill a cross hole to meet the center hole. Put your grease zerk on the end of the pin. It wouldn't hurt to make a small groove around the center of the pin to let grease get all the way around.

I have that exact loader on my old Massey backhoe. I've been thinking about doing this exact same thing to it. My bucket is still in decent shape, So, I'm thinking about converting it also to a quick attach. This old Massey just starts right up on the first click of the key and for the most part it just runs super. I use it on my little homestead occasionally. most of the time it's just parked in the field.

Excellent work! Now I see why conversion QA brackets cost $500-1000 depending on the tractor. Was going to this to my MF, sold it and bought a new Kubota with QA & third function.

I need to do this to my Case 430 Construction King. The annoying thing is that it doesn't have two bucket cylinders like most tractors. It has one in the middle. I feel like that's going to make the conversion a little more complicated 😊

It must be your camera cause I swear it looks like the quick attach on the right is rotated to the right / not level lol other than that great work. Now I have a project for my tractor. Buy the pins with the recessed grease nipples.

They do make drill bits that will drill those bushings. Finds them on line.

I have a Massey Ferguson 20 industrial with a Massey 32 loader. My lower pins also aren't greasable I was going to drill the pins in the drill press and make them greasable that way. I'm also going to make mine have a quick tach on it too

The original flanges near the top pins appear to be severely weakened....they've lost a lot of material and there is A LOT of curl force going through those flanges. Great video though, thank you. I enjoy your videos.

Since a tractor is designed to steer and not to carry, think twice before designing a bucket for say a skidsteer. Those forks are handy as pockets on your shirt but again, the front axle beams are just for steering. If you are rich, then buy more toys but poor people really are forced to do what is needed an buy more rod. There are bits that will drill holes in titanium so finding a bit that might be made in america at a reasonable price that is going to set on the shelf after one use is the deal. Nice work so far
