Though the equations in this video are much easier than the ones in class, The video explained these concepts much more clearly in 6 minutes than my math teacher could in a class period and a half.

At 3:18, there is an odd statement about signs (which is repeated at 4:34), in light of the fact that one is a sign while the other is an operation. It sounds like you are trying to tie in to rules about multiplication of signed numbers. This would seem to indicate that math is a list of things one needs to remember.
